Does the bill apply only to Mosques or to Synagogues too? Not that I’ve ever heard of a speaker on a Synagogue but the bill should apply equally.

the new law would ban loudspeakers from all mosques in Israel.

Wow! That would be great. Those things are incredibly annoying.

During my time in Iraq, everyone knew that the mosques were pep rallies for the enemy. They’d come out of the services fired up by the hate speech of the imams, ready to commit jihad.

It gave rise to the saying, “When the yodeling stops, the bomb drops.”

One of the comments on the article said:

This article is in error. The bill relates only to the first and last calls to prayer, which can be as early as 4:30 in the morning and 10:00 in the evening during the summer.

During the day, when the ambient noise is greater, the calls to prayer aren't a problem. In recent months, a number of mosques upgraded their sound systems to a level that the noisiest discotheques would be proud of, and play the call to prayer at full volume.

Israeli President Shimon Peres has said he is ashamed of the bill and others like it. “This is simply a march of folly … I am personally ashamed there are attempts being made to pass such laws.” Israel doesn’t “have to raise the ire of all the Muslims in the Arab world against us”, Peres said.

In the early 1930's with Hitler seeking election in the waning days of the Weimar Republic, there existed a now nearly forgotten, obscure political entity known as "Jews for Hitler" (I kid you not.).

"Jews for Hitler" afflicted with the same self-deluding left-wing liberal mindset we have today as practiced by the DemoRats, supported the Nazi political plank in so far as it related to the national, economic, demographic policies the Nazis vowed to implement, considering the genocidal vehemence against Jews as mere political boisterousness. Well, we all know how that turned out.

Regarding the unbridled revulsion I have towards the mentally-deranged Shimon Peres and those of his eternally-damned ilk, I've always felt them to be the political heirs of those like "Jews for Hitler", who in embracing their enemy only serve to expedite their very own demise, self-destruction.
