I know Kalipornia is messed up, but what buffoon came up with letting people retire with millions after having contributing NOTHING?

did this really make sense to someone once upon a time?

jeesh, they should find these people and flog them.

I thought the guy in the picture looked pretty good for having been dead for 10 years - then I realized it was our joke of a governor. :=)

They have to fund it. We take it at gunpoint.

I took a 20% pay cut to work for the state and no pay increases in 5 years now. They now take 5% of our pay for the pension at gunpoint.

You may find that the people holding the guns are the ones from whom you are making demands.

It certainly is ridiculous.

Unions out of control, asking for the moon and getting it.

LOL I know, when I first saw that picture with the article, I didn’t recognize the old guy.

(That’s why I posted the Hale Bopp pic in 18)

Playing satan’s game can age you pretty fast.

LOL! Good luck with that after the peasants get a bellyfull.

I'm going to make sure that any children I come into contact with KNOW that they were enslaved to pay off our public masters "servants".

Hank, if you're from Virginny, here's for you:

McDonnell Calls for $2.21B In Contributions for State Pensions 12/15/2011

...McDonnell and the General Assembly agreed to defer $620million in pension contributions in 2010 to help balance the state budget. The plan McDonnell announced Thursday would fully fund the first two installments in a 10-year schedule to refund that money to VRS...

Whoopsie! Guess they robbed you guys to pay Paul...

...McDonnell's proposal assumes an 8 percent rate of return on investments, more optimistic than the 7 percent rate recommended by the VRS board and its actuary. McDonnell said his proposal otherwise fully funds the VRS actuary's projections...

8 percent on what planet?

Not trying to yank your chain, just pointing out that these pie-in-the-sky .gov pensions are NOT going to materialize 5 years from now. I'm not going to work for $20 an hour to pay someone 10 years younger than me to be retired at $30 an hour.

If they send the gun thugs, they can pretend they're the law all they like. We saw what our royal betters Clinton and Corzine thought of "the law", and we took notes...

“I’m not going to work for $20 an hour to pay someone 10 years younger than me to be retired at $30 an hour.”

Yeah, you will. And you know it. And it’s not my fault. I did almost 20 years in the corporate world. We were good at this.

earnings forecast to 6 percent, well below the usual CalPERS forecast, 7.75 percent.

Where are they getting those rates of return?

Oh they probably made that up.

Of course stock market manipulators and insider criminals (such as congress members, Soros etc) do much better than that.

Yeah, you will. And you know it.

We're already Starving You Monkeys. Wait'll the party gets started in earnest.

The "we'll take it at gunpoint" attitude is going to lead to "revenue neutral" actions...

I'm praying that most of the .gov retirees have attitudes like yours.

It'll make things SO much easier...
