Rep. Murphy Blasts Lowe’s for Pulling Ad (VIDEO)
NBC Connecticut ^

The firestorm against Lowe’s pulling ads from a Learning Channel Show about American Muslims moved to Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy said he is leading a group of members of Congress who are calling on Lowe’s to reconsider their decision.

Lowe’s pulled its ads from The Learning Channel's reality show "All-American Muslim" after complaints from The Florida Family Association, an organization Murphy called a “right wing anti-Muslim group" that thinks the mission of Islam is to destroy America.

“This is a major American company rubber stamping basic foundational bigotry against a major American religious group,” Murphy said.

He defended bringing this issue up in Congress.

“This country was founded on the premise of religious freedom and this body should never remain silent when a group of people is marginalized just because they worship a different God,” Murphy said.

Murphy said his message to the people who made the decision at Lowe’s, and anyone else who is “considering getting behind the growing Anti-Muslim bias” is “You’re better than this.”

I guess Rep. Murphy has solved all the more pressing issues in CT. I don't even hear about this until now, but I will be contacting Lowe's to show my support for their decision.

This particular Murphy must be illegitimate ~ because he's an IDIOT.

No way he could have known his father.

Murphy could be magnanimous and buy political ads on the Moose show.

I’m going out of my way to spend over $1,000 at Lowe’s after the first of the year.

I’m going to email Lowe’s and tell them that I appreciate their decision too.

Glenn Beck lost many of his advertisers based on efforts of groups to get them to pull there ads from his show.

Didn’t hear a peep from this douche.

And where’s the Congressional support for Lowe’s?

WE let these people out-organize, protest, boycott us. No wonder we win less than our numbers suggest.

Murphy makes a habit of taking the wrong side of an issue.

But considering Connecticut's voters are mostly idiots, he's just catering to his base!

The People's Republik of Connecticut is SO lost. I fully expect this POS Murphy to end up as our next US Senator, replacing Lieberman. Ugh...

Hey Murph!

Are you, as a U.S. Congress-critter, attempting to ESTABLISH A RELIGION, via the Commerce Clause?

...that thinks the mission of Islam is to destroy America.

Clearly, Murphy has done extensive research into muslim history, philosophy, and practice.

It's likely that Lowe's pulled their ads because the program wasn't attracting viewers, not based on the content of the show.

Just something to consider.

Christopher Murphy said one thing that is true Congress ought not be talking about Lowes-or any other corporation pulling their advertising from a Television show. He is dead wrong about this act endangering our national security—and if he believes it does then he is delusional and ought not be in Congress>I will make extra effort to find a reason to shop at Lowes —unless they surrender to the Christopher Murphy crowd already captive to Islamic jihad in America.Murphy is a disgrace to every person I’ve known with that name.

The left is relentless in attacking their enemys. We need to do the same and make any company that advertises on that show suffer the consequences.
