Before you newly active Republicans commit to Newt Gingrich as your presidential nominee on the basis of the recent debates, here's a bit of Newt history you ought to know. I promise you, it's going to come up if he's the candidate.
The day after the Republicans' historic takeover of the House of Representatives in the 1994 election, Newt was off and running, giving a series of Fidel Castro-style speeches about "the Third Wave information revolution." It had the unmistakable ring of lingo from his new-age gurus, Alvin and Heidi Toffler.

Better yet, read the Toffler’s book ‘The Third Wave.’ In it, you’ll see where Newton would like to take all of us.
Thank god for the Republican Revolution of 1994. Newt was Speaker of the House and solved all our problems with Joe Scarborough.
I’d rather have an explanation from Coulter as to how she can shill for Romney and continue to pretend that she is a conservative.
Neither one can be trusted.
What's the matter with Ann? I remember the day after the '94 election that Newt was recommending that every American should understand the greatness of George Washington by reading Flexner's Indispensable Man; and the wisdom of the Framers by reading the Federalist Papers.
Surely Newt is a flawed candidate. But that's not the same thing as being a failed governor; or columnist.
Let's hear it for the Big Dig. Come on Ann. You can lead the cheer.

Gingrich’s new book. “An Idiot’s Guide to Using a Toaster”, will not be sitting under my Christmas tree this year.
Sure would like to know what Newt did or said to Ann Coulter. She’s usually right on the money, but her obvious loathing of NG borders on the irrational. The only thing that comes to mind is “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
Newts got problems sure, but Romney is unacceptable.
She’s out of her mind.
Like all beltway babes and pundits, Ann is in love with herself.
There's not much room left for an open mind.
ROFLOL, what a dumb statement.
Since Gingrich said he would give serious consideration to making Romney his VP, we may end up with Mitt anyway.
Coulter you &$*@, go shack back up with Bill Maher.
Conservatives didn’t ask the vampire caucus.
