LOS ANGELES (AP) Lawyers representing convicted assassin Sirhan Sirhan argue in new court documents that a bullet was switched in evidence at his trial and new forensic tests show he is innocent of the 1968 killing of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
The attorneys are seeking to overturn Sirhan's conviction.

Doesn’t matter that there were eyewitnesses who saw him hold out a gun & blow holes in Bobby’s head or that a Times photographer was standing 3 feet from Bobby & saw him shooting. Nah.
Plus here is the real of the story:
“His lawyers say he was hypno-programmed and allege there was a second shooter...”
Yep, you can’t make this up.
Who had the best motive?
I guess what the lawyer alleges must be true, after all isn’t Sirhan a member of the ROP?
But he didn't have the shooter's clip-on tie. Bobby K grabbed it off the shooter when he was hit and threw it on the floor.
No, that's five more than Sirhan could have fired from the gun he was carrying.
But the gun identified as Sirhan's was not the only one there that night.
“Snort”
I take it you never heard of this direct eyewitness testimony?
“and I watched in horror as Sirhan emptied his revolver at Robert Kennedy...”
Ted is dead, no reason to let him out.....
Or how robotic the shooter was who shot McGovern?
American murdered by Islamic Zealot because he supported the Jews? Nah, too simple
Classic. You get a shill star for that one. Denying hypnosis while entraining it in the same sentence. I'll bet you can rub you stomach and pat your head at the same time too.
Sorry, but Sirhan Sirhan is an Arab Christian, perhaps lapsed, perhaps penitent, but a Christian, not a Muslim.
I really wish my fellow FReepers would get into their heads that while most Arabs are Muslims, there are Arab Christians, and not just in Lebanon, and even Arab Jews (very few in number now). My bishop is an Arab-American, whose ancestors came from a valley in Syria the Arabic name of which means “the Valley of the Christians”. One of the recent doctoral graduates from my mathematics department was a Jordanian Christian (in that much, like Sirhan Sirhan). We Orthodox Christians vernerate some Arab Christian saints, most martyred by the Muslims like St. Joseph of Damascus and St. Jacob of Hamatoura, some pre-Islamic like St. Ephrem the Syrian, and one, who reposed peacefully after a long and fruitful ministry, is among the few Orthodox saints whose ministry was in America: St. Raphael of Brooklyn, the first Orthodox bishop consecrated in America, who was born in Damascus, but whose family fled to Lebanon during the persecution in which St. Joseph of Damascus was martyred.
I could never reconcile eyewitness accounts that Sirhan was never closer to RFK than 18 inches, and then for but a very brief second, and Coronor Thomas Noguchi’s autopsy report showing powder burns and tearing at the entrance wound behind Kennedy’s ear indicating a point-blank shot. That would be impossible with that caliber gun from 18 inches away.
