The California Air Resources Board is now being investigated by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

On Wednesday, the committee chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Temecula, sent Air Resources Board Chair Mary Nichols a 13-page letter advising her that he was "expanding" the committee's ongoing investigation into the establishment of fuel economy standards. ..

"Your refusal to subject yourself and your office to congressional scrutiny is emblematic of the core concern that many in Congress share...that CARB, as a state actor, is unresponsive to congressional concerns and unappreciative of congressional priorities," Issa wrote.

Rep. Issa. When you probe CARB, use a red-hot poker. They are destroying the economy of California, hurting the truckers and small business owners, and driving the rest of the country crazy with their lunatic science and wet-dream standards.

As NormsRevenge wrote: PROBE, PROBE, PROBE, like a proctologist with a Jack Hammer.

There have been allegations that CARB has used questionable science to justify their draconian rules. I hope ISSA puts enough investigators on this to expose any fraud. People need to go to jail if it can be proved. Hopefully, if there is a Republican President, and he appoints a bulldog AG, a lot of People will face indictments.

It sounds like Issa is the ONLY DAMNED REPUBLICAN DOING ANYTHING!

What gives? Is he the only one left with a spine?

It would be nice if Issa would finish one probe before starting another.

It’s time someone went to jail for Fast & Furious.

I'm sure Dr. Bill Wattenburg will have something to say this weekend on his radio show on KGO 810 from 10P.M. to 1 A.M. Most of California and the West Coast can hear it.

He has been an enemy of CARB for years.

CARB serves a very important function to ensure that our hair styling products do not contain more than 6% alcohol. They scour the retail shelves and run independent tests to save us from these life-on-earth threatening dangers.

The Congress has no authority to investigate a state agency except...in those instances where that agencies oversight affects interstate commerce. AKA the revenge of the commerce clause. The second they issued regulations affecting trucks, ships, and trains, they opened the door to congressional inquiry.

Hopefully for once the commerce clause will be used to STOP runaway government.
