That was the point of the article. It would be nice if you folks actually read something before responding. I don’t post shallow pieces with obvious messages.

Certainly; he can learn and grow; but with an expense of time - now a luxury -per dealing with our many crisis, ‘at hand’.

And what makes you think electing another politician will solve our nation's woes; especially since it's their breed that has gotten us here?

You’re wrong. The article isn’t anti-Cain. It’s anti-’experience.’ Like I told someone else, I don’t post article with shallow, obvious messages. And I support Cain.

Yes, but then it has come to the point that the man shoveling elephant poo at the local zoo would be a big improvement on the life long ,do nothing , suck of the public tit, politician. They and the good old boy crony net work have destroyed a great country.

Agree. We're in an emergency situation here and now is not the time to let an apprentice take the reigns. We can't afford the time it would take to bring him up to speed.

Very well written article.

It asks the right question when one regards the damage 0bama is creating in the foreign policy department.

We rail about how his inexperience is turning the ME into the caliphate, but really it is his lack of wisdom to discern the information he is being fed.

I’m not sure Cain has that wisdom given his reaction to some of the ‘scandals’ he had been presented with either. He will prove my concern wrong if he has learned from these early missteps on the ‘local’ level. I am willing to give Cain a little time to see how he handles issues going forward. Can he slice and dice between the propaganda and misinformation or not?

No one person has all the qualifications needed to run this country. Surrounding oneself with the best advisors is what makes the difference. Bush had Cheney (should have been other way around) but did not always heed his advice or he wouldn't have set the stage for an Obamination. One must expect that Cain would find the best people to guide him on foreign affairs and other issues, then vet out their advice to ensure their abilities/loyalty to the Constitution/People on each issue. With the right people in place, an otherwise moron could be successful - Cain is no moron.

I vote "Yes - he is qualified"

The election is not about who wins as President, the most important thing about a Presidential election is “WHO THEY APPOINT TO CABINET POSITIONS”, you think its just the figurehead who carries the weight? Its who he appoints as advisers, and supporting staff that makes his administration work. Why do they want Romney more than Cain? Because Romney will bring in all his supporting cronies and appoint them to positions as a payback. I’m sure he has a spot picked for Rove to fill. That’s how things work in the District of Corruption. IMO, Cain is a smart man, he’ll bring in outsiders who know their stuff and not worry about appointing Party Hacks as a payback.

Herman has experience at succeeding, being American, remaining positive, speaking without a teleprompter.
Yes he is qualified.

Let’s see. Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush with multiple last names, Clinton, and W were all governors. Only one of them were qualified by their life experiences to be President.

Whenever I read an article, no matter what the headline, I first read the lead paragraph and then the last two, depending on their length. The first starts to set the premise and the last ties the conclusion of the premise.

This is actually quite good because both induced me to find out more of the author’s thesis. It brought to mind one of those “A wise man once said” lessons of life my great Uncle would counsel me on while I would go to his saddlery shop on weekend while my Dad was in Vietnam 1967-68.

“A wise man once said, you’ll never learn anything with your mouth open.”

I read the article and came away with the premise that wisdom will always outweigh experience.

I believe that Herman Cain is on God's side.

Why is it impossible to say and believe that God has a hand in guiding our Country without the MSM calling us a bunch of kooks?

It's either IN GOD WE TRUST or it isn't.

I believe!

The article is asking about experience vs. wisdom.

Does a man need experience to have wisdom?

When the two women went before Solomon with the baby was it experience or wisdom with which Solomon acted?

Can I post without reading the article? I thought I could.

I gotta say there’s something quite strange going on with Republicans.

Three months ago would anyone have believed that there would be a revival meeting on Free Republic for the loathed and despised Gingrich and the unknown, totally inexperienced out of the blue candidate, Cain?

No, I could have won big money if I’d bet on that.

But last night during the Cain/Gingrich talk fest, there were a thousand posts shouting Amen for this pair.

There were a few hateful people (me, for one) trying to talk them down to no avail.

You are wrong—it is a hit piece against Cain because of “experience” the kind of “experience” RINO pundits think invaluable and the kind of “experience” we need to put in the trash because the RINO pundits who “define” “proper” “experience” have contributed much to the mess we are in now.

Yes, a great article. The title though is one that those of us, sick and tired of the denigration of Mr. Cain, are leary of, expecting another patronizing attack. I would recommend those using the “not enough experience to be POTUS” argument against Cain consider the last words of the article:

“Whether or not Cain is the best man for the job next November, there is a bigger issue here: the fact that we tend to choose our candidates using the wrong criteria. We have to stop talking about “experience,” that poorly understood, water-muddying term, and start talking about wisdom. Will America finally elect a wise leader? Given that Americans don’t even talk about the quality, I’m not very optimistic.”............

Experience can be gained, and gained quickly. Wisdom.....that’s another story. My impression of Herman Cain is that he has that exceedingly more important quality...in abundance. Plus, he quite openly LOVES this country and our constitution. Obama has a hard time PRETENDING to love the same...
