There was a longer story on this yesterday.
Lots of people evidently covered it up, and need some jail time.

Paterno knew his assailant raped a ten year old boy and he did not report it to police?

Why is he not immediately put in jail?

Sandusky retired in 1999 but continued to use the school's facilities for his work with The Second Mile, a foundation he established to help at-risk kids.

Death penalty. As Bob Grant used to say, he has served notice on society that he is not fit to live amongst us.

If football coaches could marry this would not happen. Oh wait...

The Second Mile is apparently a Catholic youth organization.

This behavior is regarded as being learned, ie the molestors were themselves molested as a child.

Quite the horrid price to pay for having been “tolerant” in the past. The damage appears to have spread like a cancer. Some of these boys will be warped for life and will end up perpetuating the cycle.

Another disgusting homo caught in the act of their sick obsession. IN time, all of the acts of a homo will be couched in their rights as a minority. Who would ever have thought they would be allowed marital status and to adopt same-sex children—just like ancient Rome and the catamites.

Two thoughts besides the obvious:

1) Paterno and Sandusky supposedly did not have a good relationship with each other.

2) I’m no legal expert, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around what exactly happened. However, in reading a Penn State message board that is anti-Paterno in general (scout.com’s penn state football board), it seems like most of the people on the site think Paterno did what he was supposed to do and can not be blamed.

3) I have read that it is common for former coaches to have offices on campus. I am not sure how accurate that is, though.

The Attorney General praised Joe Paterno’s efforts, so I don’t want to hear this Joe bashing.

I always wondered what it would take to get Paterno out. Never guessed this.

I can't BELIEVE I've remembered a quote from Rocky & Bullwinkle which is relevant:

Boris Badenov: Ah, it good to be back on campus.

Natasha Fatale: Boris, you went to college? Penn State?

Boris Badenov: No, state pen.

It sounds like *someone* from Penn State is headed for the State Pen...

NO cheers, unfortunately.

BTW, has anyone asked Kevin Jennings, the New York Public School Sex Education crowd, or NAMBLA about this for an on-the-record comment?

JoePa reaches a coaching milestone, and finally the justice system acts on something that should have been addressed many years ago. I guess Happy Valley ain’t so happy for some children. :( Disgusting.

Penn State is getting to be quite the experts at coverups, given their whitewash of the climategate fraud and now this.

Paterno will be sued with the rest of them. He’s done.
