Moore Lashes Out At CBS4 Over Wealth Questions Filmmaker Visits Occupy Denver Protesters November 3, 2011 6:29 PM
DENVER (CBS4) – Filmmaker and activist Michael Moore joined a growing crowd at the “Occupy” Denver protest Thursday evening, but his encounter with CBS4 left him fuming when he was asked about whether he represented the “99 percent” that the protesters stand for, or the “1 percent” they claim to be rallying against.
He appeared in Denver for a book signing event and visited the demonstration at Civic Center Park just before 6 p.m.
Moore said a few words to the crowd and then was escorted by two security guards in an SUV to the Tattered Cover’s Colfax location for his “Here Comes Trouble: Stories From My Life” book signing at 6:30 p.m.
Moore talked briefly with CBS4 reporter Evrod Cassimy before he was escorted to his waiting SUV. Watch the entire exchange below.

Evrod started his television news career in Grand Junction, Colorado at KJCT News 8. Since then he’s worked in Madison, Wisconsin, Orlando, Florida, and Richmond, Virginia, before making his way to Denver.
During college is when Evrod’s love for journalism really took off. He studied at Columbia College Chicago, in a city he also calls home. Evrod has covered a number of different stories throughout his career.
While in Orlando he covered the Casey Anthony case, reporting live during the search for her daughter. While working in Richmond, Evrod earned the title of “Award-Winning Journalist” winning the Virginia Associated Press Award for “Best Coverage of Breaking News” in 2010.
His favorite interviews and stories are ones that impact the viewers at home.
Evrod’s name is unique to his heritage. His parents are from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. He lives in Denver with his wife, Danielle, a Colorado native. He enjoys the mountain scenery while living the big city life.

I don’t know if Moore is wealthy, but he certainly isn’t spending any money on clothes or personal grooming.

Well done Evrid. I didn’t realize you were once in Richmond. The only other question he should have asked is, “Rather than wait to have your taxes raised, why don’t you just stroke a check to the US Treasury Department?”

Moore: “Because I do well, I want taxes raised on people who do well, including mine.”
Cassimy: “How are you helping these people with your $50 million?
Moore: “I don’t have $50 million.”
Cassimy: “That’s what it’s rumored you are worth.”
Moore: “Well, really. Is that what you do is sell rumors?”
Cassimy: “We’re asking you for the truth.”
Moore: “You’re just punk media is all you are. You lie. You lie to people. Stop lying to people. Stop lying.”
Cassimy: “Are you not part of the 1 percent?”
Moore: “Just don’t lie, okay?”
