Last weeks twist-ups on CNN and Fox left some Republicans wondering whether Herman Cain is really pro-life or functionally pro-choice on abortion. Well, NARAL just stepped in to clear everything up by launching an attack on Cain.
Now, NARAL president Nancy Keenan has released an open letter Cain saying she believes he is fully pro-life on abortion and condemns him for taking such a position.
Lets start with the things we agree on: you are 100 percent opposed to a womans right to choose abortion careeven in cases of rape or incestand have made that position clear on numerous occasions. End of story, Keenan writes.
The NARAL leader then says she disagrees with Cains assertion that a president doesnt have significant power over the issue of abortion.
A direct attack from NARAL on an issue that nearly derailed his run. The Hermanator thanks NARAL for their vital contribution to his campaign.
with enemies like that who needs friends, or sumfin
Funny how NARAL gets it. But so many others (even FFeepers) don’t.
Ping!
This came out today too:
Black Pro-Life Leaders Affirm Herman Cain’s Pro-Life Position

All FReepers "get it" just like the MSM "gets it". Some are are just dishonest about it to promote their own agenda.
I guess thats true.
Although I have greater respect for a FReeper who honestly misunderstood the obvious, or was simply taken in by the MSM agenda, than I would for some who are “dishonest about it to promote their own agenda.”
Cain is an honorable man. His pro-life bona fides are without question. Yet some are eager to claim Cain is a flipflopper. And worse.
My fear? Cain is TOO honorable for such a sleazy business as running for president. Just like Palin. And foes on the right and on the left will tear into an honest person with a vengeance.
After all - politics is a nasty business.
Yes, NARAL certainly did do Herman Cain a favor by attacking him for his longstanding pro-life position. This kind of flat-out attack on Cain’s pro-life stance, coming from a virulently pro-abortion group, should knock down the phony attacks from the ‘right’ regarding Cain’s position on abortion, which has never changed. That some supporters of other candidates tried to use what they saw as an opportunity to drive a wedge into Cain’s conservative support is frustrating but then, we’re talking about presidential politics and, apparently, anything goes. As usual, some just want to find fault as they seek the absolutely perfect conservative candidate (that has never and will never exist) and some are simply uninformed and post before reading - or thinking, in some instances. Hey, this may be FR but it’s still the internet.
.BINGO!!!!
“Funny how NARAL gets it. But so many others (even FFeepers) dont.”
I wouldn’t use NARAL as a ruler. Anyone who does not actively celebrate the killing of babies would be categorized by them as pro-life.
I don’t think Herman Cain has the comic inclination, but if I were in his shoes, I would send Kathleen Keenan a nice floral arrangement with a ‘thank you’ card and a note: “Aren’t you glad you were not aborted?” :)
So which other candidate has naral seen fit to personally attack like this...except for Sarah Palin?
Somebody finally said it...
Cain doesn't even give those "pro-lifers" who claim exemptions for rape and incest, which is still the destruction of a human life.
Many pro-lifers are willing to allow "choice" when the conditions of pregnancy are without "consensual sex" yet are opposed in other conditions but people like myself, the life is still "life" and isn't not intended for destruction by God.

If NARAL hates Herman Cain, then he looks better and better.
So, you are one of those on FR who don’t get it? If so, that is a pity. But NARAL did attack him, true, but the NRLC came out in support of him also. Does this count?
The idea that NARAL, or NRTL for that matter, get to define what and who is pro-life is absolutely ludicrous.
God defines what pro-life is. The Declaration of Independence defines what pro-life is. The Constitution of the United States defines what pro-life is. I’ll stick with them and the plumb lines they lay down for us, thanks.
