No Mitt, No Más
American Thinker ^ | October 22, 2011 | Chet Arthur

...Mitt Romney is basing his campaign on his superior business savvy. Good thing, since we would not want to look too closely at RomneyCare in Massachusetts. It not only embraced the unconstitutional individual mandate, but it extended coverage for abortion in the Bay State.

Romney says he does not want to sign the Susan B. Anthony pledge to defund all outfits that kill the unborn. Why? Because that would cut off federal funds to hospitals that do abortions. Yet, he doubtless believes he can sell us on "building a culture of life."

That lovely phrase from the late Pope John Paul II is a lifesaver for politicians who can talk "culture of life" while shoveling money to the engines of death.

Romney is more than willing to tax us for the killing of embryonic humans while he claims the pro-life mantle. How does that work? He might have pursued instead the most promising treatments that are found in ethical stem cell research -- from adult stem cells and other morally uncompromised sources.

Again, he's shovel-ready.

By saying he believes in anthropogenic global warming, Romney will try to become the first politician ever to accept Al Gore's premises without the policies that go with his ideology. These policies invariably include more government micro-management of the economy and population control.

And then there's Mitt's plastic persona. He is not liked and unlikely to become liked. It was T.R.'s indomitable daughter, Alice Roosevelt Longworth, who summed up Thomas Dewey's "can't lose" campaign in 1948. "He's the little man on the wedding cake," she said acidly.

Mitt Romney is Thomas Dewey, only taller.

Rick Perry on Abortion. Find it odd the Perry camp wants to attack Cain when he is to the Right of Perry on Abortion.

Disclosure reports show that neither Bob Perry [Perry Homes] nor his wife have donated to Rick Perry's presidential bid. Bob Perry has given money to other candidates but not to Rick Perry. The biggest recipient is Mitt Romney. Bob Perry and his wife gave a combined $5,000 to Romney's early this year and $500,000 to the super PAC Restore Our Future that supports Romney.

In 2008, they supported Romney's nomination with a $5,000 donation between them. According to disclosure reports Gov Tim Pawlenty received a combined $10,000 to his presidential campaign and another $60,000 to his political action committee from Bob Perry and his wife. Bob Perry is also the top donor to the Karl Rove-linked super PAC American Crossroads.

We are hurtling to a next-in-line GOP candidate. What this race needs is a West or Rubio to be next-in-line. The way things are going next-in-line will be Christie.

Instead of attacking Perry, Romney should be moving Perry’s direction.

Romney will move wherever you want him to move to get your vote.

It’s his past that will bury Romney against Obama.

He can not be our nominee.

Nope.

If the GOP Elite get Dole 2.0 as the nominee stay home,

DO NOT VOTE.

Romney will preserve the Statist Empire built by Obama and defang the true American Constitutionalists.

An Obama victory will bring a renaissance of Constitutional Americanism and a new party .

Agreed......100%.

I never in all my years thought I would stay home, but I and 58 million of us will stay home, and wave goodbye to the GOP.

The line is drawn. I would vote for any of the present field , BUT NOT ROMNEY.

it’s “do you personally feel fit” to attend the Mormon temple services. That’s how in practice, if not in ideal principle, they can get “good Mormons” like Harry Reid.

If I had my druthers Harry Reid would already be a god on his own planet.

Cordially,

Nope.

Romney is preferable to Obama 2.

People have been sitting home due to pique at the Republicans forever. It’s only gotten worse.

Sitting on your ass won’t change anything. A third party will take years to rise to parity.

Action is required—actively pushing to change the Republican party, not pouting and letting Obama wreck the country.

You can sit on the sidelines if you like. I like this country too much.
