Dems Are Clueless About Job Creation

Leadership: Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid thinks the private sector is "doing just fine" and that it's government that needs help. Now we see what the Democrats' priority is: big government, not people.

Responding Wednesday from the Senate floor to a question about a new Democrat plan to raise taxes on working Americans to pay for another $35 billion bailout for the states and public employee unions, Reid said:

"It's very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it's the public-sector jobs where we've lost huge numbers, and that's what this legislation is all about."

No, we're not making this up. The comment is utterly wrong, of course, and underscores Democrats' cluelessness and insensitivity to the damage they've inflicted on the private economy since taking power in 2006.

Government data — available on the Web to all, including Reid — show 6.257 million private-sector jobs lost since the recession began in December 2007. That's a 5.4% decline. By comparison, government employment at all levels — state, local and federal — over that same period has fallen by about 392,000, or just 1.75%. If you look just at Reid's employer, the federal government, the number of jobs actually increased by 63,000 since 2007 — a 2.29% gain.

They should have shortened the title. “Dems Are Clueless” is short and true.

Dems Are Clueless About Job Creation

No they're not!!!! They don't want to create jobs or a healthy economy. Democrats feel they can maintain power better in lousy times than in good times. FDR got elected/re-elected a total of four times during the Great Depression and WWW-II. His party mainatined control of Congress through that entire period. The current band of Dems would like to do the same only this time they don't want Harry Truman spoiling their dynasty.

Dems Are Clueless About Job Creation...

...because they have no clue that job creation is a byproduct of WEALTH CREATION - something they're even more clueless about, because wealth creation requires economic freedom in the marketplace and limited government. The Leftist can create phony go-nowhere govenment jobs like FDR did in the 30's but they can't fake wealth creation.

So who’s suffering here?

Overall, the private sector has lost 16 jobs for every job lost in government since 2007. Even if you correct for the relative difference in the size of the two job markets (see chart above), the private sector has still lost three times more jobs than the public sector.

I have been looking for those stats all day every since I heard Dingy Harry make those supid comments. Republicans should be repeating these statistics over and over until the American people realize that it is Big Gov’t that is screwing us, not business.

Well there's winners and losers. Looks like when government, unions, and lawyers win, the rest of us and America loses.

Like to see that turned around.

This isn't about job creation. It's all about vote creation.

The jackass is not for nothing the symbol of Reid’s organized crime gang, oops I meant political party.

On a (real) other bit of news today, the District of Columbia has the highest per capita popul;ation of millionaires.

Amazing for a locale that provides no added value to the nation, a community of total parasites.

Republicans have no better asset then having the pinched faced, simpering voiced, clearly insane Harry Reid as its public face.

Democrat/Liberal solution to ‘create’ jobs: Tax businesses more, so GOVERNMENT can ‘create’ jobs. Create more government regulations that trap businesses and fine them for making new regulatory mistakes. Engage in crony capitalism, nepotism, artificial subsidies (ie the basic elements of fascism, plus the prior increased regulations) to prevent the market from letting failed businesses fail while demonizing the profitable businesses because they did it without govt help.

Conservative solution to create jobs: Tax businesses less so they have more capital to increase production, hire more people, and invest money back into the business. Cut back on excessive business regulations that make life unnecessarily harder for businesses to operate. Let the free market determine the success or failure of businesses and products, and not risking any of taxpayers’ money that has no business being spent on saving a business some government officials think ought to be saved.

Clueless?

No, they understand well what they are doing! They are political power holders whose ideology turns America's founding philosophy upside down and sets some individuals in the society as being the "deciders" and grantors of the rights of the other individuals.

These pesudointellectuals who have come into power today may claim to be "intellectuals," but they are ignorant of the lessons of the history of civilization.

They are products of a deliberately "dumbed-down" citizenry by those who wished to enslave their minds to a counterfeit set of ideas.

That was not the Founders' plan for America. They expected that the ideas of liberty would be passed from generation to generation, in order that the light of liberty, once kindled, would remain bright.

Instead, we risk going back to the "Old World" ideas which preceded the "Miracle of America," because of those who have called themselves "progressives," when, in fact, their ideas are regressive and enslaving.

Would suggest to any who wish an authentic history of the ideas underlying American's founding a visit to this web site, at which an 1872 "History of the Rise of the Republic of the United States" can be read.

This 600+-page history traces the ideas which gave birth to the American founding. Throughout, Richard Frothingham, the historian, develops the idea that it is "the Christian idea of man" which allowed the philosophy underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution to become a reality--an idea which recognizes the individual and the Source of his/her "Creator"-endowed life, liberty and law.

Is there any wonder that the enemies of freedom, the so-called "progressives," do not promote such authentic histories of America? Their philosophy puts something called "the state," or "global interests" as being superior to individuals and requires a political elitist group to decide what role individuals are to play.

In other words, as stated earlier, they must turn the Founders' ideas upside-down in order to achieve a common mediocrity for individuals and power for themselves.
