News of the shootings at Ramón Villeda Morales international airport in San Pedro Sula on Friday evening has now begun to be splattered across the pages of newspapers around the world and broadcast via television and radio.
The story has been picked up by the AFP, AP, EFE and UPI news wire services and reported by CNN International. Consequently, it has already been written up in newspapers such as The Washington Post, the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, The Kansas City Star, and Newsday.
The headlines read... "6 Killed, 3 Wounded in Honduras Airport Shooting" and "Gunmen Kill 6, Wound 3 in Parking Lot of Honduran Airport" and "Six Gunned Down Outside Honduras Airport". And this story is just starting to get coverage.
By the end of this week, Honduras' reputation as one of the most violent countries in the world will have grown exponentially.

I wonder if those guns that the ATF "walked" from FL to Honduras has anything to do with this.
I wonder if ousted Honduras President Mel Zelaya's return to Honduras has anything to do with this.
I wonder if Obozo's faithful Der Hilderbeast has anything to do with this.
Inquiring minds want some answers.
Honduras previously had a reputation for being a quiet country.
These two statements cannot both be true.
The equivalent US number is 4.8.
Honduras appears to have the highest murder rate in the world and climbing.
I wonder how much of the killing is related to MS-13, which has reportedly spread from El Salvador to other Central American countries.
Feed the insurgencies and call it an “investigation”. That way no one questions his part in the plot, he follows orders and gets good annual reviews and everyone’s happy.
The fact that no one actually gets arrested, no cartels get rounded up, no kingpins fall, doesn’t in itself ring any bells. The investigation is “continuing”. If other law enforcement agencies get wind of it, they are backed off of it; its federal. The federal authorities are handling it.

Now what has happened since 2006?
Honduras was a quiet sleepy country at one time.
Look at what Obozo, Der Hilderbeast, Eric “the Red” Holder and various other U.S. departments and agencies do to make things worse in Honduras?
BATF did walk guns to Honduras....
NO, I am very serious. I have been watching what has happened there for several years. Obozo wanted to reinstate Mel Zelaya (ousted President & drug runner) and when they could not get that done they “bought off” the newly elected President of Honduras, Mr. Lobo. Now Mr. Lobo removed all the nationalist police chiefs and Security chiefs and came to the U.S. for skills in “investigation” (hee hee hee). On the 5th of October Mr. Lobo was in the White Hut meeting with Obozo.
You tell me this is not partly our meddling in their affairs.
Sorrowful as it is, 6 killed would not even equal an average weekday drive by shooting in Chicago. Kill 50 or 60 a day in Mexico and it hardly rates more than a yawn by the LSM.
You are correct.
But in 2006 they were not in the top 37 countries as far as murder rate. (from the statistics I found)
I like the spunk of the Hondurans who stood up to Obozo. They obeyed their constitution in removing Mel Zelaya from the office of President of Honduras, under the terms of their constitution.
The “gun walking” into Honduras may be the smoking gun on Der Hilderbeast’s involvement in this mess (Fast & Furious/Castaway/etc)
Of course she would never do anything so brash unless Obozo himself signed off on it. I am confident he did.
Bring the investigation on, Mr. Issa & Mr. Grassley.
Honduras ping.
I am unclear why you posted murder rates for all the European countries.
Now I see what happened. The statistics you posted are per 1M, not per 100K, the more usual method. You have to multiply by 10.
On that basis, the Honduras murder rate in 2006 was 462, about 2.5 times that of Turkey in your stats.

I think our attempted but luckily somewhat ineffectual interference in Honduras was shameful, but it doesn’t really explain everything going on there. One stat I ran across showed the Honduras murder rate in 1999 as 1540/M. Somewhat effective attacks on the drug gangs in Mexico and Colombia means they’ve moved much of their operation to Central America. Crime has gone up in all of these countries, which are much smaller and have fewer resources to fight back than Mexico or Colombia.
I also find it ignorant and short-sighted to blame the crime and murder rate on FnF. Doing so says the Cause of the crime is the availability or presence of guns. This is the argument of every gun control advocate since time began. It says the crime in Honduras, Mexico, etc. is caused by inadequate gun control.
Is that really the argument you want to make? Extrapolating it to the USA means our “gun crime” is also the result of inadequate gun control, which if implemented would stop the crimes.
Is that really the argument you want to make?
No, but in the case of the "walked guns" to Honduras, they were sent there for some reason. Where did they go, and why were we even involved. Was it to destabilize Honduras? Was it to go to supporters of Mel Zelaya? I think Obozo sees this as payback time for Honduras because they supported the U.S. policy in the past, as opposed to those of the Sandanista's in their neighbor, Nicaragua.
Our current administration has at every step supported the Commies. In every case. They try to hide this, but an honest evaluation in every case leads to that conclusion. This mess in Honduras is going to be Der Hilderbeast's undoing, and possibly that of Obozo. Think about it. There are reports of between 1,200 and 2,000 weapons "walked" to a small country like Honduras. I am also sure that weapons were readily available in Honduras before this. All free citizens should be able to defend themselves, but criminal organizations are quite another thing. So, why were they "walked"? Who received them?
I have friends in Honduras who told me that Mel Zelaya had planes fly out of his "operation" daily and that the cargo was drugs. This was prior to his removal as President of Honduras.
“Honduras appears to have the highest murder rate in the world and climbing.”
There was a thread on this: Honduras, currently highest murder rate in the world. I thought I keyworded either “Honduras” or “murder rate” on the thread, but it isn’t coming up on a keyword search.
If I locate, I will ping you.
