Thanks!

8+ minutes into it, Cain, Bachmann and Gingrich are doing well, with Romney and Perry looking weak.

For the record, I voted for Palin last time. I will not vote for Romney because my major objection to Obama is forcing health care down our throat. Guess what Romney did in MA? Lost jobs and higher premiums later, Romney still believes in it. ObamaCare is here to stay in spite of what Romney is saying in the primaries.

As far as staying home, don't worry, a Republican vote in NJ is a waste of energy.

Please. Gingrich buys a house in VA, gets a VA driver’s license and voila, he’s from Virginia. The restriction is on “inhabitant.” Too easy.

I agree. Cain was the new guy to attack. I thought he weathered it well.

9.99 wouldn’t be the price of a GodFather Pizza...that would be 2 for 9.99. They were always running a special trying to get the price as low as possible.

When Santorum did that, I cringed. It was a brilliant move and I think it harmed Cain... a LOT!! When it happened I found myself hoping not many people were watching the debate. I almost didn’t watch it because it was Bloomberg and those messages at the bottom promoting Hussein were annoying me to the point of wanting to smash the tv but I stuck it out.

If Romney gets the nod, it’s 4 more for Obama,
Romney ‘WILL NOT’ beat Obama, pure and simple.

Herman Cain CAN and WILL beat Obama, pure and simple.

Cain 2011

That depends on how many Americans are willing to actually sacrifice a bit to save their country. I hope sufficient numbers are smart enough

They won't and they aren't smart enough. They elected Hussien didn't they? You think the freeloaders want to have to actually contribute something? Not in a million years.

Huck, you crack me up.... I understand the hesitancy you have towards a national sales tax. I do as well. I highly doubt it would make it through congress to his desk.

As calculated for me, if my current income tax rate of 24% was dropped to 9% given last years sales receipts (yes i am a dork and budget crazily) I would have come out ahead by 1.34%. Not bad.

The only way I could truly support such a plan would be if it was legislated through the constitutional amendment process. A repeal of the 16th and replaced with the new plan locking the rates. This would never happen but the discussion is important.

I do think that the nature of the sales tax would make everyone have skin in the game. The lower 47% would be just as much against an increase than the 53% that pay taxes today. I also believe they may start voting differently because they would have skin in the game.

I have previously posted the info below, and it fits in with Santorum's 2nd question: How many people believe that we’ll keep the income tax at 9 percent?

Santorum & Gingrich

Most improved: Bachmann

I never believed Cain actually told the press he was going to “Go after Romney”

At least not in the way they hoped he would

Compared to Romney Cain’s campaign is broke. That’s why he’s doing the fundraising rounds and why he’s lost some staff. The staff don’t work for free. It’s their livelihood.

Cain needed something to catapult him into name recognition and 9-9-9 does that. It simultaneously addresses the Federal Debt, the tax and tariff wedges, inflation, government spending and entitlements like SS & Medicare. It’s brilliant and reminds me of Gingrich.

Cain has a bunch of supply-side advisers. Ignore all the grumping about this. Cain’s done a solid job of thinking the plan through. I’ve read the criticisms and they’re hollow or resolvable through legislation.

In the end there are two types of political actors throughout history - income redistribution and income growth.

Cain is for income growth.

“They won’t and they aren’t smart enough. They elected Hussien didn’t they?”

They sure did, and now they’ve seen how that worked out. There are a LOT of remorseful 0 voters these days.

“You think the freeloaders want to have to actually contribute something? Not in a million years.”

I’ll grant there are possibly as many as 30% of the people in this country who’re that morally bankrupt. That leaves 70%, which would be a massive landslide in an election. Don’t give up hope, or as some say “despair is a sin”.

(The ongoing travesty of illegal immigration has skewed things a bit in the wrong direction. That needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.)
