Herman Cain woke up Tuesday to another day of soaring polling numbers, showing him moving into second place behind Mitt Romney and pushing Rick Perry out of the spotlight.

The day ended with the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO under attack from his rivals, both on stage and in a series of post-debate press releases meant to tear him down.

But from his new center-stage spot next to Mitt Romney, Cain calmly weathered every jab from them, the moderators and even the Democrats, walking out from the Dartmouth auditorium having done little to hurt his standing.

The liberal media is pumping Cain for all its worth. They can't believe their luck. Cain would be beatable without 9-9-9, but if he really tries to sell that turkey to the general electorate, he'll go down in flames and Obama will win re-election.

Don't think it's possible? Think again. Just ask Harry Reid about being unpopular and getting re-elected.

Cain/Gingrich would be awesome

Sarah Palin as Energy Secretary

Ann Coulter as Press Secretary.

Thomas Sowell: Economics

Walter Williams: Education

Ted Nugent- Sec. of Defense.

Actually Cain will beat him like a Red Headed stepchild. Reid was in NV and the Country Club destroyed the Tea Party candidate.

Pray for America

As a former Palin-supporter, I’m disgusted with this crew.

I was leaning towards Cain, but after his statement about Alan Greenspan was disappointing.

After each debate, Newt has always done the best (in my opinion). He’s done some really sucky things but, I’m leaning towards voting for him - installing a conservative Senate & House and holding his feet to the fire.

That’s my thought today. ABR (Anybody but Romney)

Cain looked lame in the debates. On last night's live thread somebody compared him pumping his 999 plan to "The Rent Is Too High" guy.

I like him but I think he is ignorant about governance, and it bugs me that he's dismissive about others-- except Romney.

I think Ron Paul stuck him pretty good a couple of times.

Everyone held their ground last night except Perry.

Lucky for him the viewing audience was nil. I don't know if it was the football game, baseball game or folks just couldn't find the Doomberg channel.

JMHO

I like Cain more with every passing day. If Romney ends up the nominee, unless he picks Cain, I stay home. RomneyCare is no better than ObamaCare. Romney will say ANYTHING to win.

Yep...Newt has my attention overall...and he’s rising as I suspected he might. Just too many who haven’t a clue otherwise. He can hit the ground running and not have to determine the political layout before he acts.

I think Santorum destroyed his idea for a national sales tax, and Bachmann make a joke out of it with her 999-666 comment as well as whoever said the comment about thinking it was a pizza deal.

I think Cain took major damage last night. He’s not done for, but it took 3 debates to destroy Perry, and it will probably take 3 to destroy Cain. It’s a shame that Bachmann and Santorum can’t use their sharp tounges to destroy Romney before they exit the stage forever.

Herman Cain,

Respectfully, if analysts are making the wrong assumptions about how the 9-9-9 Plan is derived,

PLEASE TELL THE GENERAL PUBLIC THE CORRECT ASSUMPTIONS TO MAKE AS TO HOW THE 9-9-9 Plan is derived.

Thank you.

cain answer about alan greenspan was HORRIBLE! Greenspan was one of the chief architect of bubbles and the destruction of US economy. Greenspan pretend to be a capitalist while he micromanage the interest rate for the economy like your typical central planner

Drudge Headline yesterday was that Cain was going after Romney.

He might have survived attacks on himself but never delivered on his promise.

Didn’t you feel let down just a little bit? I thnking that was a threat he is never going to carry out.

It’s a shame that Bachmann and Santorum can’t use their sharp tounges to destroy Romney before they exit the stage forever.

Santorum at least took it to Romeny a little regarding health care. He seemed the only one to actually score some points against him.

As for Bachmann, what the heck is up with her and Willard?

It's like she's smitten with Mittens.
