WaPo: ‘Calm down’ about Fast and Furious gun sting, ATF acting director says
Washington Post ^ | October 6, 2011 | Sari Horwitz

The new acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced a major shake-up of his agency Wednesday and urged Washington insiders to “calm down” about the latest revelations surrounding a controversial ATF gun operation.

B. Todd Jones said calm is needed as he begins rebuilding the beleaguered agency, including shuffling top personnel. He made his comments as his boss, Attorney General Eric J. Holder Jr., came under fire this week from Republican lawmakers, with one calling for a special counsel to investigate Holder’s role in the Fast and Furious gun-trafficking operation.

That would be General Buck Turgidson said that. Ripper was the rogue base commander.

So, thousands of weapons went across the border to Mexican drug dealers, who have used the weapons and the ammo to kill not only LEO’s, and other drug dealers, but also innocent bystanders, and the public should calm down??? I say it is past time for some lynching of public officials who allowed this fiasco to occur, and for those who are busy trying to cover it up.

Attacking that young idealistic CBS reporter was probably their biggest mistake.

When idealism meets the ugly reality that is communism,
idealism loses and the face of evil is exposed.

Let's face it, if the FBI and ATF can get away with mass murder (Waco*), then this isn't going to make much of dent in those arrogant einsatz gruppen commandos either.

*not a single federal agent was brought to justice for their Himmler inspired actions.

“Calm Down” is not a phrase most widows and orphans made that way by Fast and Furious would care to use.

I wonder what the WaPo’s reaction would have been back in 1973 if someone from the Nixon administration had flippantly told everyone who was concerned about Mr. Nixon's little scandal to “calm down about the Watergate investigation”.

No worries. Obama has pardons for everyone involved.

Correct. When all is said and done, Obama will pardon them all, even accomplices to murder.

“...Colossal arrogance...”

And Colossal Criminal Complicity.

They’re accessories to MURDER, and the media ignores it because they’re protecting Soro’s Shoeshine Boy in the WH.

I’ve read that under Bush’s Gunrunner there were convictions, just not enough to continue with it. And NO guns went to MX. Maybe MestaMacine knows the details of Bush’s one/

I hope the GOP brings up everyday that America lost an honorable citizen and Border Agent because of the lies and recklessness from Holder, Obama and the rest of the clown-asses in Washington.

“...Red” America, the one that, in a curious inversion of the language...”

The lamestream media changed that one; they ALWAYS HATED the appellation “Red” being attached anywhere NEAR “Democrat” - even though it is entirely appropriate foe the communist assh*les that they are.

Blue America vs Red America came about during the Reagan elections, when CBS news (?) inadvertantly used the colors to show which part of the country was voting R versus D. The Dems FLIPPED, and ever since, have been hellbent on reversing it.

That’s basically it...somebody else out here can expand on it as necessary...

The first I heard that there was something similar under Bush was yesterday and the article just said no convictions but no guns were sent to MX and used to kill border guards.

So according to the article F&F was just letting some guns get to the cartels. Yawn... Amazing, not a peep about any of those guns being used to kill our agents or god knows how many Mexicans. Un-F*^&ing-believable.

The Wikipedia story includes this sentence:

"Operation Wide Receiver did not allow guns to be 'walked' into Mexico, as the straw purchasers were apprehended before they could move the weapons to Mexico."

So, while it is possible (maybe even probable) that the BATFE under Bush administration ran a gun smuggling sting, there is at least one very important difference between "Wide Receiver" and "Fast and Furious".
