97% YES when I voted. Our side can always use a little reinforcement, though.
If this is in the wrong category or doesn't have the right number of bells and/or whistles, well, forgive me ... it'll teach me a lesson.

Just what is the point of “voting” in an on-line USA Today poll?
To: RobinOfKingston
The answer is NO. The 2nd amendment recognizes the right to bear arms but does not bestow that right. Understanding the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is the responsibility of every American citizen. Eric Holder should be impeached for not defending them.

Sadly, even if it is 97% of the entire US population it won’t stop Obama and Holder from doing everything possible to at least lay the groundwork (”under the radar”) for disarming the populace.

Caution, caution, caution...
I went to the USA Today site, and (maybe I missed it) but I saw nothing about such a poll.
Can someone here verify it, or should the thread be pulled, (and "poll" participants do a virus check)?

Do I own a gun? No, Unfortunately I lost all of my guns in a duck hunting accident. The Blind caught fire when I started a charcoal fire with gasoline to keep warm. It destroyed all of my guns and singed the dog.

we will see if the results get published. Did you notice the '2007' and 'November' in the url?
This thing has been bouncing around email boxes for years now.

Sadly, I no longer have any firearms. They were all lost when I had them on a boat which overturned crossing the river one blustery winter day. I barely escaped with my life, that is my story and I am sticking to it.

Anyone voting “YES” is an idiot.

97% YES when I voted. Our side can always use a little reinforcement, though. Since it's that high, I didn't bother voting.

Well, actually the correct answer is “No”. The Second Amendment does not GIVE you the right to own a firearm. It guarantees your right to own a firearm. But I still voted “yes”.

Understand the spirit of the question, so voted YES!
The right to keep and bear arms is the natural corollary to our right to self preservation and defense, is God-given, and inalienable...
The 2nd Amendment (aka Article II of the Bill of Rights) enumerates this right, and intended to admonish government against infringement ...It is to be a restraint on government and elected officials, not the people...
It is we the people in the persons of the militia who ultimately secure this right...
In the end, we have no rights we are not prepared to fight for...
Fair warning, Mr. Holder, DOJ, ATF, etc...

The right to keep and bear arms is a God given, innate right. The 2nd Amendment prohibits the federal government from infringing upon that right.
