The Italian story you told should be true. My grandmother on my father’s side is from Naples and would tell us stories about her not getting jobs when she was younger when she applied for jobs in the north of Italy, like Genoa.

And it has always been so since the days of the cavemen who preferred their own kind to another tribe’s..call it what you will: racism, prejudice, bias. It will never go away and has been around for thousands of years.

The Spanish began bringing slaves from Africa to the New World shortly after 1500 because the local Indians were dying off in such numbers. In some of the former Spanish islands a sizeable part of the population has some African ancestry. (That's even more true in the former French, British, or Dutch islands.) On the mainland there were some black slaves but they were only a small fraction of the population--most of the people now are either of Indian or mixed Indian/European ancestry.

Watch major league baseball and you will see a lot of players from the Caribbean with Spanish names and African ancestry.

Yes, but I have been in major studio departments and this is where our work is centralized. Whites will be hired more than hispanics and just like Scientologists where every white person I know goes to “church”. Those same liberal white people will never allow a hispanic into their major departments such as special effects. They know they are the minority so they close ranks.

Whites (or in today's PC parlance, "Anglos") have been more than accommodating to the Mexicans here in Texas over the decades. We patronize their restaurants, eat their food, buy their beers (Dos Equis, Corona and the rest), bend over backwards to try to educate their kids, watch their television programs (Sabado Gigante) and even celebrate their holidays with all of the fuss over Cinco de Mayo.

And what have we gotten in return from the Mexicans who live here in the United States? A soaring crime rate, a predictable voting bloc for socialism, a defiant flying of the Mexican flag in our country and a brazen refusal to to learn and speak English. While there are Mexicans who have adapted to our culture and values, they are but a tiny minority of the lot (one of whom is a very close friend of mine).

Here's a reminder from a past Free Republic thread about what our so-called Mexican friends think of the country that has given them so much and expected so little in return.

The violent crime rate in the south is considerably higher than the northeast. The reason why blacks and whites move south is due to a lower cost of living and job opportunities. Not everyone can work at Goldman Sachs or any other place in the shrinking financial sector.

Thanks much for the link.. now I know I am not alone in my observation. I knew there had to be an explanation. As if declining home values weren’t bad enough, now the government is filling up these neighborhoods with ghetto trash.
