Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund who returned to Paris after New York prosecutors dropped charges of attempted rape against him, will be interviewed on Sunday on Frances most-watched news program, a spokesman at the TF1 television channel said. It will be Mr. Strauss-Kahns first interview since his arrest in New York in May. Mr. Strauss-Kahn, 62, who had been considered a strong rival to the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, in the 2012 presidential election, is expected to be asked about his political future, the future of his party and the current crisis of the euro, among other things.

How do you say “I did not have sex with that woman” in French?
Strange post alert.
Je n’ai pas eu des relations sexuelles avec cette femme
I’ll post the interview story tomorrow, and the video.
I can’t imagine what he is going to say, but it sounds like a media campaign to rehabilitate his image.
Keep in mind that the civil case against him for assault, attempted rape etc are still going forward in NY, and the case if assault & attempted rape of the young journalist, Tristan Banon, is now in front of a judge in France.
Will the media grill him or fawn over him? Will he announce his retirement from public life?
Or will he, as I suspect, make some pre-packaged image maker’s crafted apology to the French people?
The soap opera never ends ...... à suivre
Excellente! Merci beaucoup. Not babblefish I presume!
Tsk, tsk, DSK!
Apparently he’s going to admit to a “sex addiction.” Like all the rest of the sleazy pols.
Let’s all chant: Go away, DSK!
Altogether now: Go away, DSK! Go away, DSK! Go away, DSK!
Will he say he’s going into Rehab? I didn’t know the French believe in sex addiction- they call it seduction! And DSK was always known as “le grand séducteur” LOL!
Sign up for the FRENCH POLITICS & CULTURE PING LIST & find out why it isn’t strange at all.
DSK was head of the IMF. He was headed right for the nomination of the Socialist Party to take on Sarko for the presidency of France.
Sarko caught a big break with DSK’s little faux pas in NY.
In the words of the late, great Amy Winehouse: Rehab? No! No! No!
Actually they call rape “seduction.” Gerard Depardieu, French actor (who recently pissed himself on an airplane) once said that when young he and his mates “raped all the girls” (if you’ve ever seen how ugly this guy is, you would know that’s the only way he’s ever going to get any). Must be a French thang.
By the way, I meant to tell you that there was an interesting article in the NYTimes food section this Wednesday. All about French politicans who cook and who put together a cookbook about their various regional cuisines. It included several recipes. Incredibly difficult recipes from my point of view. French cuisine is gorgeous but sooooo complicated.
DSK did not contribute to the book!
I remember this story. I always thought it was something lost in translation - believe me, Gerard’s English is atrocious!
In his youth, he was attractive in a bearish sort of way. He grew into a fat oaf, of course. 30 years ago, I saw him at the NY Film Festival introducing “The Last Metro.” Drunk as a skunk with a glass of wine in his hand, Catherine Deneuve and Francois Truffaut looking highly bemused.
Neither Truffaut or Depardieu could say a word of English that anyone could understand. Poor Catherine had to take over.
DSK doubtless has his own chefs.
more like le grand sex fiend.
Probably. But this book I’m referring to has some of the most powerful people in France contributing their own recipes. All of them were in the kitchen testing the recipes. The French are VERY different from Americans and the British when it comes to cooking. Home cooking is an enormously respected habit in France. One of their strong points.
Hopefully, he says he will never return to the US!
