Rick Perry not likely to receive respite from immigration criticism in Iowa
The Iowa Independent ^ | 09.14.11 | Lynda Waddington

Criticism hasn’t eased for Texas Gov. Rick Perry in the wake of his statement during a recent debate that the border can’t be secured and defense of his state’s tuition policy for some undocumented immigrants — and a two-day tour in Iowa this week doesn’t look like it will hold solace.

((snip))

Jerry DeLemus, chairman of the Granite State Patriots Liberty PAC, a tea party umbrella group, described the Texas answer as “wrong-headed” and a “big negative” against Perry’s White House hopes. Katrina Pierson, a member of the Dallas Tea Party’s steering committee, said “Governor Perry has not met the standards, for me, to be the President of the United States if he can’t even address the real issues here in Texas.”

Perry is a phony, but he is real on one thing, he loves ILLEGAL aliens as much as GWB does and wants to make them citizens.

Great analogy to “open borders Bush”. Illegal immigration is one of the top issues that this country needs to address. It affects just about every aspect of our lives.

Worth repeating over and over and over

Katrina Pierson, a member of the Dallas Tea Party’s steering committee, said “Governor Perry has not met the standards, for me, to be the President of the United States if he can’t even address the real issues here in Texas.”

Could Perry win the WH if he lost both CA and TX?

He’ll win TX this time, but as Rush pointed out, with Perry’s record on immigration, a future Republican candidate will have to win without TX and CA. This will be due to Perry’s approach to illegals.

Yes, it is. But in some cases it will fall on deaf ears. The fact that Perry has a consistent record of supporting ILLEGAL aliens means nothing to some as Perry, in their minds, is the only one who can beat Obama. And to that I say, read my tagline.

McCain was a terrible candidate with an even more terrible campaign. His record of being pro-ILLEGAL alien hurt him just as I believe Perry's similar record of being pro-ILLEGAL alien will hurt him.

Perry will win his own state. But despite his constant pandering to ILLEGALs and those who support them, he will never win California.

No matter how hard some try to convince themselves that Perry is the tea party preference, the reality will always be right there to bite them.

Even here in a state with “relatively” few illegals, border control is a major issue. Our secretary of state is fighting with the feds over their refusal to help purge the dead and illegal voters from our voter rolls and she says she doesn’t intend to let it rest with the next administration either.

Illegal immigration is one of the top issues that this country needs to address. It affects just about every aspect of our lives.

That it is. Perry's way of dealing with ILLEGAL aliens is to pander to them by giving them access to instate tuition and supporting amnesty. He goes one further and calls those who disagree racists by insinuating we oppose such travesties because of someone's last name.

All three tactics have been used by Obama and the dems. Coincidence?

Of course he will win TX. The point is that his policies will force a FUTURE Republican to have to win WITHOUT Texas.

Perry type polices (years ago) cost us any chance of winning CA. They will cost us any chance of winning TX in the future.

That’s why I ask the question.

He needs to show us how to win without TX.

Rick Perry Tea Party?

The TP does not agree with Perry on the big-government, nanny-state Gardasil debacle.

The TP does not agree with Perry on his opposition to the border fence.

The TP does not agree with Perry on his opposition to Arizona trying to defend itself from the ILLEGAL hordes that he wants to make citizens.

The TP opposed Perry on the TTC.

The TP does not support Perry’s warped view that anyone opposing instate tuition for ILLEGAL aliens does so because of the ILLEGAL aliens’ last names.

The TP did not agree with Obama and Pelosi’s stimulus bailout plan yet Perry took stimulus cash anyway.

Rick Perry is a big government, progressive neocon candidate much the same as Mitt Romney ;he is a fraud and anything but in line with the TP's core principles.

statement during a recent debate that the border can’t be secured

I can’t believe that. I really can’t. Not a Tea Party statement for sure. Not what FREEPERS say either.

Perfect picture. He is like Obama who always blames Bush. Well he blames Obama about the immigration problem. He will do the same as Obama and blame the last administration for everything instead of shutting up and fixing it. Jan Brewer seems to take action and not complain about it.

He might as a governor be able to pass some of the blame to Uncle Sam, but once he is proposing to become Uncle Sam, then he needs a whole new mindset. What other country lets itself get walked all over like this by foreigners?

Jan Brewer seems to take action and not complain about it.

And Perry sided with the Obama administration in condemning Arizona's effort to defend herself.

When it comes to battling ILLEGAL immigration RINO Rick Perry is on the wrong side of the debate.
