KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Insurgents fired rockets and assault rifles in the direction of the U.S. Embassy, NATO headquarters and other official buildings Tuesday as gunfire and explosions rocked the heart of the Afghan capital. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
The surge of violence was a stark reminder of the instability that continues to plague Afghanistan nearly a decade after the U.S. invasion that ousted the Taliban in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the United States.
Police said the gunmen were firing from a tall office building that is under construction at Kabul's Abdul Haq square, which is about 300 yards (meters) from the U.S. Embassy. American officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

The embassy is in a horrible location as far as security goes...plenty of locations to stage an attack.
and of course we kiss the collective Afghan arse...so there is no way to improve the conditions.
Perhaps this is a warm-up for Sept. 17.

I tend to think he is a deep cover subversive for the Islamic Brotherhood.
So carpet bomb a 1 mile perimeter around the compound and resolve the issue.
I mean okay all our great( and I mean it) 'nam vets have been saying this ain't gonna end well, gonna be like 'nam and since I was in the army back when I BELIEVED them men because they trained me and they were rarely wrong('cept how to cook snake, danged if'n I was gonna eat it raw!) and never wrong about war and stuff so I gotta believe so many when they're all a wailing like a banchee:

PS, I still believe them, 'specially the hunters, they know and they kept me alive more times than I can think about so God Bless ya'll but this this right here is no good. No good they killed people in the Kabul Hotel a few months ago and no good you can't just let out a big flattering fart no more neither. It's just all wrong.
