Professor You Lie, currently on academic leave from the Chicago School of Bureaucratic Socialism, last night arrogantly delivered his usual cookie-cutter Keynesianism Socialist Lecture Number 14.6T to a partial Joint Session of Congress.

Judging by the long faces of the assembled Democrats, I sensed an air of defeat. Had their guy thrown in the towel?

It was a very tense 32 minutes for them as You Lie brought up the painful subjects of "dismantling the Government," "not raising taxes on anyone during their lifetime," (I guess they could make it retroactive, but I'm not a lawyer), "no more earmarks," and the scariest one of all: "everything will be paid for!"

Wow! How in the world can debt be created if the new/old/new again buy-the-votes-when-you-can programs are going to be paid for! The fear gripping the room must have been immense! Could it possibly be that You Lie was actually going to keep his drunken spending BELOW the National Debt Ceiling?

It could be true, as Sheriff of Nottingham Timmy Gee looked glum all night.

Based on the past experience of what the track record is for You Lie's words/deeds/reality it does appear that he really has chosen to "race to the bottom" of THE VALLEY OF DEBT.

I say he and his infrastructure worshiping friends are a bunch of cargo cultists. They think that all you need to do to spur economic growth is build an airstrip in the jungle and the sky people will bring stuff.

The reality is that the infrastructure projects of our past have been a result of economic growth and not the cause.

A cargo cult is a religious practice that has appeared in many traditional pre-industrial tribal societies in the wake of interaction with technologically advanced cultures. The cults focus on obtaining the material wealth (the "cargo") of the advanced culture through magic and religious rituals and practices. Cult members believe that the wealth was intended for them by their deities and ancestors. Cargo cults developed primarily in remote parts of New Guinea and other Melanesian and Micronesian societies in the southwest Pacific Ocean, beginning with the first significant arrivals of Westerners in the 19th century. Cargo cult activity in the Pacific region increased significantly during and immediately after World War II, when the residents of these regions observed the Japanese and American combatants bringing in large amounts of material. When the war ended, the military bases closed and the flow of goods and materials ceased. In an attempt to attract further deliveries of goods, followers of the cults engaged in ritualistic practices such as building crude imitation landing strips, aircraft and radio equipment, and mimicking the behaviour that they had observed of the military personnel operating them.

Well I normally avoid Zero like the plague but viewing the live thread I thought it would be fun to check out the apparent temper tantrum “pass it now” uh, wait...there’s nothing to pass!

Basic civics seems to have escaped him. I guess he couldn’t view Schoolhouse Rock’s “I’m Just a Bill” vignette on Saturday morning TV in Indonesia.

So I turned it on but missed all that. I did notice that the democrats kept jumping out of their seats to offer standing O’s or should we say “standing Zeros” but the applause was halfhearted and frankly, lukewarm.

The biggest applause of the night was the cutting taxes and regulations line which of course the ‘Pubs were all over. FOX had a good view of the whole gallery so the little trick of placing his partisans in the front row really didn’t work. It was obvious that more than half the audience wasn’t buying it. Boehner’s face was telling. The only thing better would have been if he had taken to clapping by just tapping his index fingers together.

Hillary couldn’t keep the look of disgust off her face. Moochelle looked disgusted too. Can the woman please put some sleeves on? What an embarrassment!

Edgar Allen Poe’s “A Tell-tale Heart” came to mind, where the murderer keeps hearing the beating of the heart getting louder and louder, until it finally drives him completely mad.

The Democrats have murdered the economy and now they heart the heartbeat getting louder.

They know time is running out no matter what they do. All they have left to do is what they’ve already tried and failed, and it is driving them mad.

The Narcissist in Chief keeps talking because that is all he knows to do, and people are starting to laugh at him. He will slowly lose his sanity over the next 13 months or so as will many other Democrats. Unions already are going berserk.

As for his “campaign” speech:

It is not possible for a Federal “stimulus plan” (or a re-named “jobs plan”) to create jobs at a time when the same Federal gov’t has imposed a “stifle us” plan, via unaccountable czars and intrusive agency policies.

More spending in the face of more regulation, can only result in more debt, with no return on investment, and NO jobs.

WE MUST:
Repeal Frank/Dodd. The gov’t is only penalizing lenders for not participating in their ponzi scheme.

Repeal Obamacare. An insurance card is NOT healthcare.

Repeal the new EPA regulations and cut that department’s budget in half.

Get the Fed’s out of the Banking business and the Automobile Industry.

Shut down the Dept. of Education as the Federal gov’t has no positive role in education.
Shut down the Dept. of Energy, ostensibly created 34 years ago to “reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil”.
It has done everything possible to achieve the opposite result.

Cut the Dept. of Agriculture in half. We don’t need to pay farmers to NOT grow crops.
Corn and Sugar don’t need gov’t subsidies.
