About vetting...yes Perry has been vetted more then people credit. Texas was only one Republican Governor removed from Ann Richards when he assumed office so they had reason to believe they still had a shot to have a Democrat control the state. High ranking Democrat stratgists tried to take him out. High ranking Republican strategists tried to take him out. He even had attacks from third parties. But he has never been vetted nationally according to the interests of a populace that may not put a premium on the values that made him preferable to texas voters. I do think the Jobs theme crosses boundaries and by far is his most potent weapon in the campaign. And for those that forget GWB kept his drunk driving charge secret so it’s possible there could be something there for Perry although the fact Rove’s operatives didn’t use anything may inspire some confidence.

Palin’s personal life has been vetted so throughly I don’t fear revelations there. But to Palin supporters it must be acknowledged she had the luxury of skipping a national Republican primary. Her record has never been really examined by most conservative activists for deviations in conservative orthodoxy and she has never had to debate in a Republican presidential primary. This would be the first time that would happen and she would no more escape that examination then anyone else.

I'm with you on the P. Noonan elimination but Perry "scares me..." as well as he's yet another "compassionate conservative" in the Bush vein in that illegals "deserve......"

IMHO, the only thing we citizens of the U.S. of A. "owe illegals" is a quick trip back to the border from whence they came!

I'll not vote for another so-called conservative that is pushed to the front of the line.

I'm tired of being presented "someone who can win" in favor of a genuine conservative - and someone who embraces taxpayer funding of illegal alien ANYTHING is no conservative to me!!!

Get to the back of the line and wait your turn - is my message to both illegal aliens and Rick Perry!

Perry - show me what you really stand for besides getting elected by the illegal alien vote in TX!

“But she needs to declare first.”

I understand. I think that’s coming in the next few weeks.

Face it, Nobody but us addicts even know about whores like Brooks and Noonan. They are of no consequence in the larger debate.

Rick Perry scares them because theyre pretty sure he can win. Texas candidates for prez tend to do well, if theyre not whimps or crazed mental patients like “Doctor Paul.”

I tend to believe Perry wouldnt go flying all over europe apologizing to everyone. Nor would it take him three months to decide on a troop surge like it did for Barry.

And Ive heard this one myself. “that guy carries a gun..he’s gonna want to arm everyone and yer gonna see shootouts at every stoplight.”

Oh the huge manatee!

You’re probably right.

In any case, they need to be exposed. This person should be held up as a typical representative of the main stream media, and we need to bring up his/her name whenever we talk about them and their bias.

I think Palin fear for them is on a whole new level, which if she runs will eclipse any fear they feel of Rick. I do think they fear Rick too, in a more conventional way.

If it’s the Washington Post, then their executive editor is Marcus W. Brauchli.

“...with special venom because he is anti-intellectual...”

Translation: Progressives are brilliant, really-really
smart, intelligent geniuses. Conservatives are
knuckle-dragging morons.

The minute these scu*bags take on the mantle of
Progressive, they immediately become brilliant and
all-powerful.

(Hateful scu*bags, one and all.)

IMHO

Until she stuffs Rick Perry down our throats because, as some Latin Pubbie wrote in the other thread, "Rick Perry Is Good for Us [or for Hispanics]".

So shut up and eat your broccoli. It's Rick Perry time.

<Not.>

She's going to be awfully disappointed if she doesn't get that DC job.

Mark McKinnon has a pretty interesting history of his own, if you care to look it up.

I doubt he's as shocked, shocked as he lets on in the article quote.

"It's almost as if Perry's political persona was constructed by bundling together all the fears and phantoms in the left-wing anxiety closet."...
a chesty, quick-draw machismo that might be all right for an angry base but wrong for an antsy country," wrote Peggy Noonan in The Wall Street Journal.

cheesy and very funny, if it wasn't so serious.
....but, of course, we are (very) serious.

"someone who can win"

That's almost always a giveaway that a RiNO is talking, and he's trying to con conservatives into supporting a backstabber like McCain.

People who say that think conservatives like Ronald Reagan, Michele Bachmann, and Sarah Palin need to be kept locked away in an attic closet at all times.

It isn't that they "scare the moderates" --- RiNO's actively oppose them on numerous policy grounds and principles of government, and are actively engaged in suppression of conservatism and conservatives across the board as they build "big-government conservative" statist structures and policies to support their own access-/crony-capitalist agenda.

Sarah Palin has been crushed in a way you don’t seem to recognize. She’s not going to win a single primary. Not one.

Would you care to elaborate and tell us how?

What have "they" (Katie Couric working with CFR's Haass and ex-Sen. Nunn, e.g.) done to her that is so irreparable?

Or do you think so many women hate her "just because" that neither she nor any woman with her demographic can be nominated in the GOP? (Someone has told me flatly, "no woman will ever be nominated by the GOP" -- must be a hell of a lot of homosexuals in the RNC!)

Not really. You'd just argue with it anyway. Either I'm right or I'm wrong. I didn't give an opinion, I made a prediction. Tell you what though; why don't you bookmark this page. Then if I'm wrong and Saint Sarah wins even ONE primary state you can come ping me and show how very wrong I was. In the meantime I'm confident in my prediction.

You should take me up on my offer to ping me. You see if I'm right I'll be pinging you. :)

Tell me about it (open suppression and rebellion against conservatives by RINOs.) Here in KS, we've been fighting this war for some years.

These KS RINOs team up against conservatives with Democrats (giving us Kathleen Sebelius and a very, very liberal KS Supreme Court that overturns everything not liberal.)

On the East side of KS that borders MO, we've had liberals not only moving into KS electorate areas to elect liberals of both stripes but even voting in both states when they don't actually move into KS (MO & KS.) When caught, there might be a slight tap on the wrist from the system but nothing more. What is needed is some video shown on the news of the perps wearing orange jumpsuits and handcuffs, being marched into prison for lengthy sentences rather than being given fines that are usually forgiven.

Liberals lie and smear conservatives with as much venom as they would reserve for only their worst enemies (we are their worst enemies) reserving their loyalties for Democrats, teachers and other government employee union leaders and one another.

Nothing will please these RINOs except total capitulation of conservative ideas and conservatives themselves to the liberal mindset. They simply are zealots to liberal ideology in a cult-like worship.

This truly is a religion for these folk - every conservative and conservative idea is as a satanic force that must be destroyed!
