Liberals now calling the ATF Expendable!
Coach is Right ^ | 9/4/2011 | Doug Book

n order to prevent further “Fast and Furious” damage to the Obama Regime, it appears the left is ready to pull the plug on one of its favorite exponents of Constitutional abuse: the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Since ATF agent-turned-whistle-blower John Dodson went to Senator Charles Grassley with the true story of the Obama Administration’s “Gunwalking” scheme, congressional investigations and diligent reporting by the blogosphere have threatened to upend the President, Attorney General Eric Holder and a host of Regime operatives, all up to their necks in the politics of murder.

In fact, “Watergate with Murder” has become a preferred description of the Regime’s Operation Fast and Furious. And it is a story of conspiracy and subterfuge which has spread in spite of the best efforts of Obama’s mainstream media.

So liberals are now wondering how to placate those unreasonable supporters of gun owners rights who have become unduly outraged simply because a few thousand firearms were shipped across the Mexican border into the waiting arms of the most violent people in the world.

It appears the left is hoping that, if it permits the ATF to suffer the ultimate penalty of extinction or perhaps of merging with the FBI, an end to investigations of the beloved Obama Monarchy might follow.

Did they ever take delivery on the “always think forfeiture” toolsets? It would be the height of irony if they had to forfeit them...

The BATF by any other name is still the BATF, with the same people.

Let's keep the ATF, and get rid of the left.

“It appears the left is hoping that, if it permits the ATF to suffer the ultimate penalty of extinction or perhaps a merging with the FBI,”

It would be interesting if some Freeper former FBI would comment, but I think merging ATF with the FBI would lead to huge problems for the FBI. My estimate it that the level of professionalism is much higher in the FBI and the rough-shod riding ATF agents would continually embarrass and make more difficult the FBI’s more sensitive investigations and arrests. I see the FBI as more a finessing intelligence operation and the ATF as more closely modeled by (how shall I put this?) a lower level of professionalism and discernment.

Let’s not forget that we are dealing with oportunist sleazes. A name change and the same agency could rise from its grave like some horror movie stronger than before.

Too bad making the ATF go away is NOT going to stop the investigation of the Oblame-o regime ...especially ‘Gunrunner.’ but...

Didn’t they just open up an investigation of Oblame-o’s part in channeling funds to Soylanta’s green jobs debacle? After the exec’s names appeared on the White House guest roster how many times during the cash infusion process?

The corruption of this regime goes so deep that all they have to do between now and the election is keep opening up investigations and demanding answers...even tho we know they most likely won’t get answers, just keep shedding light on his activities so the blogsphere can pick it up and run with it.

The fire has already jumped past the ATF firebreak into the Department of Justice. Holder is now the one who has to go under the bus if Obama hopes to save anything in this.

The FBI????

You mean the ones who turned over 1,100 files to Hillary, or the ones who investigated the suicide of Vince Foster, or the ones that are in the pocket of any leftist POTUS that comes up.

I am sure that would fix the problem.

You breed a bad horse with a half bad horse you end up with a bad horse.

To do away with this you get rid of the bad horse. IE get rid of the BATFE and all it's unconsitutional Laws.

Let’s not forget what the beloved FBI did on Ruby Ridge or how many children they burned alive in Waco.

Excellent idea.
Just repeal NFA, 922(o), GCA ‘68, and NICS and there will be no legal need for ATF.

...however, if these laws are not repealed, but ATF is disbanded, then gun sales come to a halt as regulations must be obeyed but there is no bureaucracy to process the paperwork. They might take a lesson from DC: gun sales are now legal there, but nobody is authorized to sell. No NICS means every sale has a waiting period. No paperwork processing means no new or renewed FFLs, means all gun shops close up over time. No FFLs also means no interstate transfers. No paperwork processing means no NFA transfers. Intrastate private sales remain legal, but severe stagnation ensues, with increased assumption that anything but the most mundane firearms “commerce” is illegal.

Unintended consequences. Ridding the nation of the ATF sounds great, but only works if certain laws are repealed, which won’t be. This F&F crisis may prove an opportunity for the Obama and his gun grabbing cohorts.

Liberals now calling the ATF Expendable!

Patent BULLSHIT. Nothing significant will happen. Democraps have way too much "cloak and dagger" activity to let anything really important come out. Too many "big heads" on the block.

Being that emails came from the WH speaking of F&F I don’t think anyone snuck behind the POTUS and did this.
