GOP consultant Mark McKinnon says that the editor of a major newspaper told him, "We plan to declare war on Rick Perry and do all in our power to crush him."
Mr. McKinnon was outraged. "No pretense of integrity, professionalism or of unbiased news gathering," he wrote in Investors' Business Daily.
But I doubt he was surprised. This is what the "mainstream" media did to Sarah Palin in 2008, and what likely is in store for anyone Republicans nominate.
But liberals will go after the Texas governor with special venom because he is anti- intellectual, prays in public, takes the Constitution seriously and sometimes carries a handgun, Walter Shapiro wrote in The New Republic.
"It's almost as if Perry's political persona was constructed by bundling together all the fears and phantoms in the left-wing anxiety closet." he said.

Their other tactic is to claim Perry is too extreme, to turn independents against him, in case they are not successful in knocking him out in the primary.

That is the whole problem with the GOP, they stand up for people like Scozzafava while slamming conservatives like Palin.
Let’s see if Perry can stand up to th MSM “Palin” treatment, and see if he survives.

Perry is handling the heat about 100x better than Sarah did in 2008/2009. Sarah folded up like a cheap rug when they came after her.
Perry is a moderate. Sarah is a conservative.
Perry hasn’t even started taking the flak that Sarah has survived and thrived though.
Nonsense. Perry is more conservative and more qualified than Palin. Period.
The good thing is that since we already see everytyhing the liberal media has to throw out there, the constant echo chamber of the impotent shills here realy has no effect. If they wanted to actually help their candidate, they’d be finding positive articles to post instead of embarrassing themselves regurgitating DUmmy talking points.
This is a disgrace and an embarrassment to hear these people call them selves Conservatives. They aid the enemy and contribute to our own defeat. Simply because they think they have a candidate who will rise above their narrow view of the real world. And sadly, their candidate will most likely not join the race and has even make that subliminally clear. Yet they refuse to believe it and completely ignore it.

Palin endorsed Perry for governor and called him a “true conservative”.

He is a crony capitalist pay to play politician. He has sold out before to corporate interests. He likes to spend tax dollars as corporate welfare, his own mini-”stimulus”. He is in favor of illegal aliens and against a border wall.
He is not strong on property rights (TTC would have displaced a million Americans from their homes and businesses, like something out of China)
He is not a conservative. He is a gummie politician with no set ideology.
