Paul dismisses Perry as a ‘candidate of the week’

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Republican presidential contender Ron Paul likened fellow Texan Rick Perry to a “candidate of the week” on Friday and said his Republican opponent’s poll numbers would fall quickly once voters get to know him better.

“He was the one saying, ‘Oh yeah, I’m all for secession,’ and that kind of talk,” Paul told The Associated Press. “The only thing I would advise is looking into him, looking at his record, and not just taking him at face value. Texas has had a lot of changes in these last eight years, not exactly positive either.”

In a 2009 interview, Perry said there was no reason for Texas to secede from the union, but suggested it was a possibility if Washington political leaders continued to “thumb their nose at the American people.”

The problem is Ron Paul is not a conservative republican. He’a libertarian...

Nor is he conservative. Conservatives do not blame America for every problem in the world. Nor do conservatives want to destroy our military, or are for open borders, or pro-gay, or stuff earmarks in ever bill possible.
Cut and run should run in the democratic primary. His is much more comfortable with their positions.

Ron Paul, a weak candidate, calls Rick Perry the candidate of the week. Which is better, weak or week?

He’s right. Ron Paul has been running for about 12 years now! Everyone is the candidate of the week compared to him!

Ron Paul doesn’t exactly excite confidence within. Perry has a bit more of that bravado so necessary for a high profile candidate.

Hasn't he attained the status of perennial candidate, like Lyndon LaRouche?
