Personally, I'd prefer a Springfield XD.

Do you think the Republican Party's decision to raffle off a glock pistol was in poor taste?

Yes: 40%

No: 58%

Undecided: 2%

Yes, certainly, I'm outraged. Why not a Colt? But I'll give you an address to send the gun so I can bring it to the range and put a few hundred rounds through it, and give you a full report.

Another poll in this thread:
Poll:Do you think it is appropriate for the GOP to raffle off a Glock 23 handgun in Pima County?

They ask the question 2 ways. One gets a yes, the other gets a no. The poll that gives the desired result will be the one that gets quoted.

Nah. No worse that naming your TV station "KGUN".

I think the choice to use the same make of gun is in poor taste. They should have traded it in for an American-made 1911.

Imagine if instead of shooting her, Loughner had run her over with a red Corvette. Raffling off some other kind of car later would be fine. Raffling off a red Corvette would not.

Is it morally wrong? No.

Is it politically stupid? Probably.

Because it needlessly gives ammo (pardon the pun) to Democrats, to say this was a crass political statement.

And that is politically very stupid and unnecessary.

Isn’t there a single gun manufacturer in the district that could be the source for the raffle prize? Or at least, in the state?
