I think the choice to use the same make of gun is in poor taste. They should have traded it in for an American-made 1911.
Imagine if instead of shooting her, Loughner had run her over with a red Corvette. Raffling off some other kind of car later would be fine. Raffling off a red Corvette would not.

Glock is one of the most popular pistols available in the U.S.
They will do well with this raffle.
Is it morally wrong? No.
Is it politically stupid? Probably.
Because it needlessly gives ammo (pardon the pun) to Democrats, to say this was a crass political statement.
And that is politically very stupid and unnecessary.
Isn’t there a single gun manufacturer in the district that could be the source for the raffle prize? Or at least, in the state?
