Tex Gov Rick Perry To Announce Presidential Run Saturday, DURING Iowa Straw Poll.

I'm still stuck in DC, and here in the Capitol, sources close to Rick Perry confirmed today that the Texas governor will announce his bid for President this Saturday, while the Iowa straw polls are in session. Perry is due to be in South Carolina that day, and by announcing that he is "90% sure he will run," he can steal much of the thunder from the straw poll winner.
Perry's plans are to then fly to New Hampshire where he will announce that "due to the outpouring of support" he is either 99% or 100% sure he will run." The idea is to keep Perry's name in the headlines for as long as possible, while denying a clear cut media victory to the winner of the Iowa straw polls.
You read it first here on FR. We were first to name Palin as McCain's running mate, and now we have beat much of the MSM again!

BTW, please do not turn this into a now-all-too-FRequent FR pizzing contest about who is more conservative, etc. I'm just reporting the news as it was conveyed to me. It may be true. It may not.... If it's not; sorry 'bout that.

Tex Gov Rick Perry To Announce Presidential Run Saturday, DURING Iowa Straw Poll.If he's only saying he's 90% likely to enter the race, then he is not announcing a presidential run.
Enough with the hemming and hawing. Enough teasing. Just declare one way or the other.

It could just as easily get him lost in the Iowa coverage. Even so, by trying to upstage it, he may not come across well to the very people he wishes to reach.

Who said Bush couldn't run for a third term?WHAT! I CAN'T HEAR YOU.....idiot.

I don’t know if he is the most conservative or not, but I do know Rick Perry isn’t the right person to push the Tea Party movement.
I, along with many others, have explained it in many other threads, so I wont bother the Rick Perry Establishment-Republicans with all of that here
.
