Watching our system deal with the debt ceiling crisis a wholly self-inflicted crisis, which may nonetheless have disastrous consequences its increasingly obvious that what were looking at is the destructive influence of a cult that has really poisoned our political system.
And no, I dont mean the fanaticism of the right. Well, OK, that too. But my feeling about those people is that they are what they are; you might as well denounce wolves for being carnivores. Crazy is what they do and what they are.
No, the cult that I see as reflecting a true moral failure is the cult of balance, of centrism.
Think about whats happening right now. We have a crisis in which the right is making insane demands, while the president and Democrats in Congress are bending over backward to be accommodating offering plans that are all spending cuts and no taxes, plans that are far to the right of public opinion.

The reality, of course, is that we already have a centrist president actually a moderate conservative president. Once again, health reform his only major change to government was modeled on Republican plans, indeed plans coming from the Heritage Foundation. And everything else including the wrongheaded emphasis on austerity in the face of high unemployment is according to the conservative playbook.

Well, Bambi has a record now and it is broken beyond repair. Maybe America’s conservatives will understand he’s always been on the side of the Constitution.
It’s all Baseball, Hotdogs, Apple-Pie and Chevrolet, right Bambi.........
I guess when you have a black maid, a Mexican gardener and a French au pair, with $50 million on ice at Northern Trust from great-granddaddy’s 50 years of sweat, stress and success...Krugman fills your self-loathing self with sugarplum fantasies of “chickens in pots” and “to each as to his need” and you quickly thumb past NYT pages desribing the starving masses in North Korea and the failed European Nanny State...
“Please pass the Bordeaux, Mr. Krugman, how do you like the ‘61, Sir...?” (using my best Glenn Beck pipeman voice).
This is really sad. Krugman is a professor at an esteemed US college. He has to know that there is not one example, either today or in history, of successful socialism on a large scale. It has failed everywhere it has been tried and one need not look farther than across the pond to see how it has made Europe almost irrelevant. Europe is a continent where businesses sell to one another. No grand innovations on a global scale ala Microsoft, Boeing, or even Walmart. He reaches a wide audience and is beloved by leftists across the country. Go figure.....
The “disastrous consequences” he speaks of are entirely possible, as a reaction to the delusional policies he and his ilk promote. It almost makes you wish for the collapse so that these sickos riding the government-academic merry-go-round would be thrown off and have to get real jobs to survive.
I was just think that in the Obama/liberals version of the Story Of The Prodigal Son when the younger son returns to his Father he returns to ask for more inheritance money.
And, to think, that Biffy’s and Buffy’s parents spend $50,000 a year to attend Princeton, just to hear this asswipe, and A-hole Blinder, muddle their young brains.
Amazing!
Not having out of control debt and deficits is an insane demand??
Ask Mr Krugman why poverty was at 14% in 1964 and is at 14% in 2011. He cannot educate his butt out of that one.
Conservatives would turn the engine of production back where it belongs, the people. Krugman wishes to continue the discredited notion of government spending and taxing us into prosperity. Which has never happened, despite numerous failed attempts.
Look at the “scenery” when Hitler made his speech as he took charge. Then look at the “scenery” when obama took charge in Denver and officially opened the “Office of the President Elect”.
You, me and the rest of the Jews (conservatives) are a problem to him and his National Socialist Party. They truly do want to get rid of all opposition.
Not nice of him to take advantage of the stupidity of the obama voter. LOL
When Alexis de Toqueville toured the USA in 1831, he observed that one in seven households lived in poverty and squalor.
Even though they lived in the midst of plenty, in a land that was literally full of opportunity, one in seven Americans were unwilling to take advantage of what was there for the doing.
One in seven = 14%.
Yes, the cult of twisted, crosseyed dwarves who think they know what the hell they are talking about is leading us over a cliff. A cliff of spectacular vistas, from whence wonderful panoramas and scenarios are visible. But what the Krugmans and Friedmans of the world do not realize is that when you jump off that cliff by way of celebration, you end up smashed into a bloody pool of quivering tissue just as if you jumped off a really, really ugly cliff when the floor of the valley rushes up and crushes you.
I think he has a closet full of high heels, and several drawers full of pink lingerie. JMO.
A lib will never understand. God commands us to help the poor.
The Government can never help the poor.
Isn’t Krugman the same goof that said Sarah Palin murdered Congresswoman Giffords?
Paul Krugman mainly admires the Chinese fascism. Somebody gets in the way of The State Plan, POW, shot in the neck.
Real efficient like.
Why doesn't he give it to the government????
Is he handicapped? Can't he make a living?
