Red Meat for the animals. ;-)
No, they looked like regular cans, but twice as tall, and they said “Tall Boy”. I think the malt liquor came out a year or three later. Look out for the Bull!
LOL...I think The Bull just erased most of those memories...
Have you ever served in the military? Just asking, because I don’t think most military would blindly obey orders to mistreat American civilians unless they were being attacked. I just don’t see it.
Sorry if I offended you. Everything I mentioned has occurred already. The cops are not on our side. Far too many (most, these days) view the public as the enemy, and they behave that way. Perhaps you can demonstrate that none of my statements have occurred? If so, have at it.
I haven’t come to a conclusion on the facts of this case. I merely posited that anyone with a drinking problem who has his license suspended and then is arrogant enough to drive anyway, is not beyond striking a cop or anyone he sees as impeding his doing what he wants to do.
The whole family sounds like self-anointed ‘victims.’
I think that was the very point that I disagreed with. Without more evidence than what you posit here (setting aside this particular incident), I would NOT find a person more, or less likely to strike a cop.
Do you think that people with domestic violence convictions are likely to be murderers who should be denied the right to possess a firearm?
Same sort of idea here. Drink driving, driving on suspended license, are of a different character compared with assault and battery on a police officer.
-- The whole family sounds like self-anointed 'victims.' --
FWIW, the kids may see the father (and themselves) as a victim not by self-anointment, but by a trigger-happy cop.
Who cares what happened as long as we get to see the city burn?
Burn, baby, burn!
Sad isn’t it....
“Do you think that people with domestic violence convictions are likely to be murderers who should be denied the right to possess a firearm?”
Absolutely!
Human nature. Race.Circumstances
Seems to be a strict news blackout of this incident. One would expect to see several news outlets covering it.
I would hope that our military wouldn't turn on the nation. But like I said I have serious doubts. As a side thought, whose side would strategic defense be on? Would they be likely to maintain our nuclear deterrent?
No one would give orders to attack mom and pop. The spin would be civil disorder and they're protecting home and loved ones.
The picture of a mindless goose stepping Nazi is ridiculous. Those German soldiers were thoughtful dedicated believers in the greater good of their nation. Deception and error is not the same thing as mindlessness.
We read in the news of many swat team assaults that turn out to be an inappropriate over use of force. There is a us and them mentality involved. That also applies to the military. But none of that makes anybody a mindless goose stepping Nazi. One of the most appalling lessons from WWII is that good people can do terrible things either because they were deceived into believing they were actually doing good things or simply because they were intimidated and their courage failed them.
I don't think people have changed all that much.
> Further, when videos disappear, didnt record, etc., I assume cover-up.
From yesterday: http://www.kval.com/news/125774008.html?m=y&smobile=y&c=n
“A Kern County deputy was justified in fatally shooting a former NFL player at a northeast Bakersfield convenience store, according to a sheriff’s office incident review board that released its findings Monday.
The sheriff’s office also released surveillance video from that night, although the camera didn’t capture the shooting. Sheriff Donny Youngblood said the store’s camera is motion-detecting, and that caused it somehow to turn off during the incident.”
...
The gap in the video is frustrating to Youngblood. Asked if any other cameras could have captured the incident, the sheriff said none that they are aware of.
He also said the video was not changed in any way by his department except to “enhance the lighting” to make things more visible.
“You think I don’t realize by releasing this video where the camera shut itself off, (it’s a problem)? I totally understand it,” Youngblood said. “But it is what it is, and I’m as transparent as I can possibly be within the law.”
Yes, it is amazing how store security cameras always manage to turn themselves off seconds before the police start shooting.
