An attorney for a gay Costa Rican immigrant married to a U.S. citizen plans to ask a Houston judge on Thursday to halt deportation proceedings while the courts weigh the future of a federal law forbidding marriage between same-sex partners.

David Gonzalez, a 35-year-old accountant from Costa Rica who overstayed his tourist visa, is scheduled to appear before a Houston immigration judge Thursday morning, accompanied by his partner, U.S. citizen Mario Ramirez, whom he married in California in 2008

If he is illegal he needs to be sent home, regardless of marriage status.

Because fascist homosexuals are trying to force their sick perverted lifestyle into the minds of young boys, to normalize the behavior so that they won’t be resistant to seductions. They have to pervert young children, otherwise they are less acceptive to the lifestyle choice. It is why NAMBLA says, “if not by eight, then it is too late.”

God designed human beings with a natural desire where they will flourish and be productive and have a meaningful life. This process has to be thwarted because not enough parents are allowing their little boys to be conditioned into the gay lifestyle propaganda. They want to be like ancient Greece—where little boys looked forward to the gifts by men whom wanted to seduce them into their homosexual lifestyle. Pederasty is necessary for homosexuality to flourish in most cases—like in Afghanistan where little boys are constantly sodomized in their sick homosexual culture where women are always hated.

Texas has to be indoctrinated....California already is converted to their ugly worldview which is sexist and denies children their fundamental right to a mother and a father and forces their lust and demeaning of the human body, so that little children will think the unnatural is normal. Children copy what they see and they are trying to set up homosexual images for young children to pervert their thinking to the abnormal and unnatural. It also makes the Bible hate speech, so the marxist are able to destroy religion as they promote their lust and narcissism. The devil loves company and the Marxists end up destroying two pillars that support a successful culture: the family and Christianity.

He overstayed his visa, he broke the law. He could be married to a cucumber, he still broke the law.

Doesn't really matter; Federal law applies.

DOMA prevents federal recognition of state licensed same-sex marriage so this should be a dead letter. That aside - if he were validly married in a form that DOMA recognized wouldn't overstaying his tourist visa be a non-issue? Aren't the legally recognized spouses of American citizens simply given leave to remain in the country with their spouse without regard to visas? (Not sure of the law here.)

I’m not a lawyer, I just know that my being married doesn’t give me the right to ignore the law.

Here’s the part that gets my temper brewing. Seriously people, if my former Russian roommate bothered going through the citizenship process and joined the ranks of U.S. Citizenship, I have a hard time understanding why others don’t bother going through the application process. And my real disappointment with Obama and the feds is treating illegals as victims rather than emphasize that there is a real process for getting into this nation’s citizenship. It’s almost like saying that I don’t have to register yet be a student at a major university.
