As you may have heard once or twice before, its a marathon, not a sprint (unless, of course, youre talking about a sprint, then its a sprint, not a marathon). But we digress. Mark Rosenthal, CEO of Current TV, uses the sports metaphor to express his lack of concern over the second-week ratings drop for Keith Olbermanns Countdown. The show saw its ratings shrink by nearly a third during the week of June 27, averaging 93,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic.

WTF is Current TV? I never heard of it.
Hmmmmm.... Neither am I.
Wow, 93,000 viewers. That’s hugh, Keith! Local Cable Access shows on quilting probably net about the same number of viewers.
I believe the head of CBS News said precisely the same thing when Katie Couric's ratings nosed over into a power dive about three weeks after her first broadcast.
Al Gore heads it in some form.
Al Gore’s pet project.
He HAD ratings to lose??? huh.
DailyKos has been trying to get their followers to boost the ratings at Current TV and make it an alternative news source to CNN and MSNBC because they are too conservative!
I guess the plan is not working too well.
huh? I thought olbermann was fired long time ago
93,000 viewers is really sad.
Okay, I must sound like a idiot here....I’ve heard about Current TV, but what are they and where are they located?
Are they on cable or the internet?
Yes, it’s sad that there are 93,000 people who would actually watch that yahoo!
How much is Algore paying this clown?
Apparently, Mark Rosenthal is in denial and/or simply loves flushing $10-100 million down the toilet..... =.=
This guy is a liar when he says he doesn't care. He and olbermann deserve each other.
Yeah, but it may not cost Current as much as you think. Remember, Olbermann bragged about joining the network as an “equity partner” when he signed on. That means that a portion of his check is going to be based on ratings and the sharing of ad revenue. No ratings = no revenue, so Keith will earn only a fraction of what he was paid at MSNBC.
Hehehe...couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.
My understanding is that they're located in a van down by the river.
Current TV is a high school project which “broadcasts” the Olberdork to 17 eager viewers via the Internet.
It is rumored to have something to do with Albore but no one seems to have any evidence that Albore knows anything about TV or the Internet.
This is a GOOD THING. It flushes more money out of the liberal ecosystem. I think Olberman should stretch out the program for another year - through the election season. The Dems need to be kept in their own echo chamber until it is too late to wake up to change.
This will be the most expensive lesson in the country’s history other than the Civil War, but it must be learnt to get us back to original principles.
