Michele Bachmann’s Husband Shares Her Strong Conservative Values

By Jason Horowitz, Tuesday, July 5,

Lake Elmo, Minn. — In an interview last year with a Christian- radio talk show, Marcus Bachmann, a therapist who runs a faith-infused counseling center here, compared homosexuals to “barbarians” who “need to be educated, need to be disciplined.”

Dr. Bachmann’s strong anti-gay views would hardly be noteworthy outside of the suburban towns marked with water towers in the St. Croix Valley, except that his wife, Rep. Michele Bachmann, is suddenly the hottest commodity in the Republican presidential field. She has staffed up with professional consultants, but her husband of 32 years plays a central role. Dr. Bachmann, who recently called himself his wife’s “strategist,” has acted as her media planner, traveling assistant and even personal shopper.

They share a bond born of a mutual religious awakening in high school and college, a deep faith in an especially conservative form of Lutheranism, and a common abhorrence of homosexuality.

Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann has made a name for herself among conservative activists, but her ability to deliver for her district remains to be seen.

“Their career in politics has always been about pursuing a social conservative agenda,” Larry Jacobs, a political scientist and longtime Bachmann watcher at the University of Minnesota, said of the couple. He said that Michele Bachmann’s initial race for the state Senate, in which she ousted a more moderate Republican, was “broadly over gay rights.”

“My husband and I,” Bachmann told The Washington Post in March, “are a really good team.”

I guess the dirt diggers found nothing on her, so they had to go after her husband.

Buckle up folks, the trashing of Bachmann is about to go into overdrive. Hussein's campaign is really worried or she wouldn't be taking flack so early. They want to take her out quick because they know she'll be a threat. Want proof? Mittens is the front runner, yet how much mud has the MSM (read the DNC/Hussein's campaign) thrown his way? None!!!

A Bachmann /Cain ticket would really throw them for a loop.

What’s next?

Maybe they will uncover the fact her plumber’s stepfather is a Rosicrucian.

Jason Horowitz is probably one of the house f@gg0t$ writing the typical hit piece on any conservative candidate by the WashCompost aka the WashingtonHomoPost. That article was rather queer.

Obviously Dr. Bachmann has Palin Derangement Syndrome.

nah, it’s just that the Marcus issue will dwarf the Christine stuff from last September/October.

Remember, she’s not running for Senate or even VP. Marcus would be first man or whatever, he’d have to be somewhat seriously vetted. The first spouse most certainly is an important role to Americans.

Sounds good to me. She just moved up in my estimation—ahead of Palin who couldn’t be bothered to say a word to protest the homosexualization of the military.

That can’t be. Bachmann is just a stalking horse for Romney. A devious ploy, A conspiracy!

I know that must be true. I read it here.

Michele Bachmann’s initial race for the state Senate, in which she ousted a more moderate Republican

When a Republican invokes the word 'moderate', it is political cover disguising an agenda, one of compromise with the left. Be wary.

Please note the FIRST signature on this letter to the Pentagon...and stop repeating the left’s talking points.

http://www.renwl.org/sarah-palin-religious-right-accuse-pentagon-of-bullying-soldiers-into-dadt-repeal-demands-investigation/10703/

According to the Right Wing Watch blog dozens of Religious Right leaders signed a letter sent to the Senate demanding that the lawmakers put off any vote on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell until next session of Congress.

The reason?

So that investigations can be conducted to find out of if the findings of the Pentagon repeal report was the work of intimation on the Pentagon’s behalf towards military personnel in getting soldiers to support repeal. The group calling themselves the Freedom Federation, is serious in their demands. We’re talking signatories like:

Sarah Palin
Mat and Anita Staver
Ken Blackwell
Tony Perkins
Penny Nance
Lou Sheldon
Elaine Donnelly
Andrea Lafferty
Samuel Rodriguez
Robert Knight
Harry Jackson
Janet Porter
Tim Wildmon
Cliff Kincaid
Jim Garlow
Tom Minnery
Gary Bauer
Richard Viguerie
Gary Kreep
Linda Harvey
Joseph Farah
Gary Cass
Rick Joyner
Paul Blair
Don Feder
Kelly Shackelford
James Klingenschmitt
E.W. Jackson
Star Parker
Matt Barber
Dave Welch

Here’s an excerpt from the letter:

It is a serious risk to national security to repeal DADT without first investigating thoroughly – in public hearings – the effect of the proposed repeal. We are engaged in a war on many fronts. Our troops are in harm’s way in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. This is no time to experiment with social engineering of the military.

We are also gravely concerned about the effect that repealing DADT will have on religious freedom. One senior army general, Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick, said that those who oppose repeal are guilty of unacceptable attitudes that he reportedly described as “bigotry.” Additionally, expert analysts have warned that a “non-discrimination” policy for sexual minorities will have broad-reaching effects on religious freedom. It is conceivable that chaplains will be forbidden to preach or speak about their denomination’s position on homosexuality.

The Defense Department report on the likely effects of repealing DADT was not released until November 30, 2010. There is simply not enough time between then and adjournment to investigate and deliberate about this very important issue. For that reason, any consideration of repeal should be put off until next year.

Moreover, we are deeply concerned about the methodology of the DOD report and survey. In view of General Bostick’s disturbing comments and Admiral Mullen’s and Secretary of Defense Gates’ unseemly cheerleading on this issue, we believe it behooves the next Congress to investigate whether proponents of repeal tried to create a climate of not-so-subtle intimidation in the Pentagon.

The rush to repeal DADT by January of 2011 is a slap in the face of the American people who are tired of bully politics. Moreover, the consequences of repealing DADT will no doubt result in service members leaving the military or refusing to join. We cannot afford attrition or demoralization of our military in light of the wars we are facing in the Middle East, not to mention the looming threat of North Korea.

Nice try. The fact of the matter is that Palin was nowhere to be found when it mattered regarding the repeal. She was not out front on this issue at all. That speaks volumes and has soured me on her ever since.

I suspect this is very mild compared to what’s coming if Michele continues to gain ground. It’s gonna get nasty! And isn’t that a shame?
