Juan Williams: Media Matters ‘Ruins People’s Lives’ Over Political Disagreements
Mediaite ^ | 07/05/11 | Matt Schneider

Posted on 07/05/2011 8:51:21 AM PDT by freespirited

Juan Williams appeared on Fox & Friends and told Brian Kilmeade it was laughable that Media Matters is considered a charitable institution when they are dedicated to silencing honest debate. Kilmeade was shocked that Media Matters searches for disgruntled Fox News employees to help with their campaign against the network, and now Williams and other Fox personalities seem ready to fight back.

Williams described the evolution of Media Matters:

“Obviously it’s not an honest watchdog group anymore. They used to monitor the media and point out things that were wrong, false, inappropriate, which is fine, but what you are hearing from Ari Rabin-Havt [Executive Vice President of Media Matters] is that really now they’re involved in opposition research. They are digging up dirt on people. They’re trying to ruin people’s lives and reputation because they disagree with their politics. And, in specific here, what they disagree with is conservative politics and they really don’t like Fox News.”

Williams mentioned that even his former employer NPR may be guilty of only giving one point of view, but that offense is nothing when compared to Media Matters, which sets out to destroy their political opponents. And with many Fox News shows now targeting Media Matters, it seems like a full-scale war between both sides has officially begun.

Apparently, Juan Williams still believes some liberals are still good people. Much the same as an abused wife who still believes her husband loves her.

It’s amazing that Juan Williams can still serve as a liberal given his own experiences and first hand knowledge of their mode of operation. I suppose he is paid by FOX to stay liberal, for “fair and balanced” purposes. His son is said to be Republican.

Credit for still being stupid about most of life? I don’t think so.

Nah, let's not.

Too soon old, and not even close to smart.

Just a little bit.

If Juan were not receiving a paycheck from FOX, he likely would be on the side of Media Matters. A liberal can never be trusted. He's on FOX's side simply because FOX is his "employer".

Even Reagan didn't transition from liberal to conservative in one single solitary Eureka moment and he went to Eureka College.

I think Juan Williams is a decent guy, just none too bright.

I know lots of people like him, who embrace the concept that "nice people are liberals."

There is no amount of evidence or logic that convince them otherwise. It's in their DNA.

They feel that they are nice, so they will always consider themselves liberal. No matter how many times reality smacks them in the head with a 2x4, they are intellectually incapable of embracing the truth.

Leftists in power are history's most vicious breed, but their pathetic veneer of kindliness works magic on the dumb.

“Let’s give Juan Williams some credit”

Absolutely. I always gave him credit for being a gentleman. He never screamed, never called someone hurtful names, and he always provided answers that he actually believed were truthful.

That’s a rare characteristic in a liberal.

“nice people are liberals.”

More accurately, “I want to think of myself as a good person, so that’s why I embrace liberalism”.

I don’t think that Media Matters has *ever* been an “honest watchdog group.”

Brock is not to be trusted. I remember when he wrote his book on Anita Hill and then became a turncoat. I haven’t been able to bring myself to read his book “Blinded by the Right” to get his take on why he bacame a Leftie, but he has always impressed me as a self-serving individual.

Williams described the evolution of Media Matters:

It's much more interesting to me to watch the "evolution" of Juan. He's still a liberal but not as flaming, knee jerk, moon bat, that he once was. I see a glimmer of hope for him. I used to think that of Ellis Cose too but have pretty much given up on him.

Of the liberal talking heads, they are still the two I can stand to listen to for a while, while people like Bob Beckel make me want to puke.
