It’s embarrassing to be roped in again to another trial of the day. I swore off after O.J., but here I am following quite closely.
Two of the jurors picked could hang the jury. One is reluctant to “judge anyone else”, and the other said he couldn’t impose a death penalty. Both jurors were coaxed into serving anyway and brought around to agreement and “accepted”, gleefully I’m sure, by the defense. You can imagine the possibilities with them, or with reluctant others who were not so vocal but are also serving.
I’m just relaying what I heard a reporter say Casey’s explanation was. I don’t know when she got the tattoo. Maybe ‘in memory of’ was a poor choice of words by the reporter - maybe she meant to say that Casey got the tattoo when her daughter was missing as some kind of disply of love for her beautiful life, whatever.
I don’t think anyone’s buying it, but then again, Casey says a lot of stuff that no one buys.
That has always been my mindset too - I never told my children to shut up - we don't yell, we don't call names - it just isn't our style. I've been married almost 27 years and can count on one hand the number of times we've had any sort of "argument" that even led to slightly raised voices. ;^)
I haven’t followed this case closely - just off and on for the past couple of days. I have an observation and question. My observation is that this girl is full of rage and I hope that they are prepared for what she may do if the verdict is not to her liking. I’d have several guards around her and then a padded room ready to go. My question is did she have a boyfriend who didn’t want the child? That is a common reason for women of her kind to kill their children.
****State of Florida is paying for both the defense,,,***
Not according to news accounts. Casey was paid $200K for family videos & photos. She paid Baez $89K from those funds.

To any legal eagles: Could the reason Baez never did a deal be due to his client having to allocute? And if so, could the details behind the murder be so horrific his client wouldn’t make it out the slammer alive? Now I’m really wondering if she boiled her daughter to death.
No. He is one of the worst attorneys in open court that I've ever seen.
I admire that. In my family we yell and scream at each other. We are very loud and vocal.
Excellent summation! The only thing I would disagree with is that she tried to bury the kid in the back yard - although the body was definately laid down in the back yard - or the shovel was after it came in contact with little Caylee. It just seems so dumb - but, of course, if she was panicky she may very well have tried such a stupid course.
Unlike the prosecution, I never thought she was a criminal mastermind. Just a stupid grifter with a talent for lying matched by incredibly gullible parents.
Narcissism and deep resentment will work for Casey. Typical 25 year old single mother whose child’s every basic material need is met by the working grandmother and the grandfather and not by her. Pool, playhouse, plush little bedroom, little parties, ribbons and bows. You know how grandmother’s are.
Casey, herself, lied to her parents about having a job working at Universal Studios for TWO YEARS.
Same here.
A boyfriend who didn’t think it was appropriate for her to bring the little girl with her when she spent the night with him.
My understanding is that her boyfriend-of-the-day, Tony, would not allow Caylee to spend the night at his condo. I think we can all extrapolate what happened next -- Xanex (which didn't work on Caylee anymore) and then Chloroform and spending the night in the trunk of Casey's car. The duct tape was extra insurance that nobody heard Caylee's cries.
****The pool scenario should have never been introduced. It simply didn’t fit.****
Unless she deliberately drowned Caylee in the pool by taping her mouth shut.
As we learned on the ANS threads; “liars always include a tiny bit of truth in their fabrications”.
Hi there Sac, ((((hugs)))) Sod.
There was no hit on the shovel but you got everything else about right. Darn I should have waiting for your assessment rather than watched everyday. I am hoping for a LWOP verdict because it takes so long to administer the DP. The average time for that process is 15 years last I heard.
I hope my kids will raise their children without yelling, but you never know what a spouse will bring to the marriage. Every household is different. ;^)
