“Boy..it’s a good thing they didnt smoke pot...”

They probably did, but drug dealers are usually armed.

[...] charged with slaughtering four people in a Long Island pharmacy to score a bag full of painkillers for his nagging, drug-addled wife

Tough break, Mr. President.

When asked what she would tell the families of the victims, she said, "I'm sorry that he did all of this."

Oh, well then, no harm, no foul...

Well he had a licensed .45 that he used to murder...so he had no drug priors....

Reading the article....it was all about the pills...

With this kind of crime associated with them, prescription painkillers should be made illegal.

"He was doing it because he lost his job and I was sick," his wife, Melinda Laffer, confessed...

Some "confession". In just twelve words, she packs in three justifications.

What the hell is the matter with people? When you slaughter four people in cold blood, it does not matter what is going on in your personal life. Nobody cares about your employment history or whether you're making the payments on your credit card. And, sure as hell, nobody cares about your self-induced so-called sickness of wanting to pop a pill every thirty seconds, 24/7.

People do drugs because they enjoy them. It is not a sickness. It is recreation. People do them because they like them.

I love how junkies call being stoned out of their gourd "sick".

Also, I don't understand how she isn't up for the murders as well. She drove the get away vehicle.

Didn’t David Laffer have a history of drug problems?.

Wait, she drove the getaway car and then she was walked out of Suffolk County police headquarters

Both of these human scums should rot in prison forever.

I do not understand how a person who has been charged in a nortorious quadruple homicide does not immediately hop in a car and start driving like hell the minute they get out of police custody. But this idiot will stick around, whining about her sorry lot and trying to score pills, right up to her trial date.

Disgusting. Too bad he can’t be rendered to Texas for trial and execution.

“...prescription painkillers should be made illegal.”

Tell that to a cancer patient.

On a reread it says she was “walked out”. It may be that she was walked out of the police headquarters and into a car to take her to jail. I think they hire 8th graders to edit newpapers these days.

An acquaintance of Laffer's, who didn't want his name printed, speculated that he allegedly committed the murders because he feared being recognized.

If he had just robbed the place he wouldn't have have gotten national attention.

Exactly. No mercy. He could have just robbed the place. He is an evil psycho. He went into pharmacy with shooting in mind. There was no threat to him and he would have been able to rob the place without shooting innocent people.

Hopefully, he suffers forever. Also, hope his withdrawal is full of the most terrorizing nightmares ever.
