FULL TIILE: The ultimate NHS indignity: Body of hospital patient left to die in corridor is ignored for hours... before staff simply drag him away
'He went to them for help and they left him out in the corridor to die', says Peter Thompson's daughter Senior nurse claims it was 'the appropriate method of handling the situation'
Two heartbroken parents have slammed 'inhumane' nurses who left their dead son lying in the middle of a hospital corridor and stepped over his corpse for more than ten hours thinking he was asleep.
CCTV captured staff pulling the lifeless body of Peter Thompson along the floor like they were 'dragging the body of a dead animal'.
Today a coroner said his death was 'wholly preventable' and believes he could have survived but for the neglect of nursing staff, three of whom now face disciplinary proceedings. 41-year-old Mr Thompson had taken a cocktail of drink and drugs.
The discovery of the footage has left his family devastated about the indignity of their son's death in April last year.
Mr Thompson's father Alan, 60, said: 'Seeing your own flesh and blood being dragged across the floor like a dead animal is heartbreaking.
'It was just inhumane what they did to our Peter and I just cannot understand how in this day and age this can be allowed to happen on a hospital corridor in the 21st Century.
'I can never ever forgive these people for what little they did - no matter what.'

Norwegian Blue?
Rewind this tape, about 3-5 years, and view it America. Yes, view it multiple times. As a famous American political philosopher once said: sear it into your consciousness.
Overcrowding in government healthcare hospitals?
As Sowell has explained it, when price is artificially set at zero, demand soon becomes infinite.
You Brits sure did get fooled by this guy in 1945: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlee
Like we did in 1976, 1989, 1992, 2000, and 2008(we just don’t learn do we).
Do media outlets not hire editors anymore?
First class parenting, Thompsons! Bravo!
Seriously? You asked for it, you got it. Trusting The State 101
With him being 41 I don’t think his parents are to blame.
There’s more than this in the original headline, but it was clipped to fit FR. Please see the original.
All the more reason to lie to the nursing staff and say you have chest pains or a squeezing sensation in the center of your chest. You may get a pointless ekg and blood work but you will be in a bed and have your vitals monitored.
This will effect all people including the DUers, the KOS kids.
Guess they like torture. They will not be immune to anything themselves.
1984 (not the revised)
I was wrong, and I'm sorry.
The sad fact is, that at some point these people voted for National Health Care. They chose this system. We still have time to learn, but I doubt we will.
You know what genius? There are plenty of devastated parents who raised their children responsibly with love and affection only to see those children wrecked by drugs and alcohol. Obviously you have escaped said tragedy, but the tragedy you didn’t escape is the tragedy of a merciless personality.
He was visiting a friend IN A HOSPITAL when he suffered a heart attack. The aids found that he was "too old to treat", and he died there without medical attention. He was 74.
...an "informal" death panel, don't you know.
But it gets worse...this panel wasn't even empaneled to judge who lives or dies, it was made up of people who supposedly took an oath to preserve life.....
Elections have consequences, and if God removes all His blessings from the US in 2012 and Zer0 gets elected again, don't whine....
.....but dread the event which lands you in any hospital for any reason....for you will be not only in the hands of a formal death panel, you may also be at the mercy of the informal death panel as well.
What you say might be right. I believe, however you will find the prevalence of dysfunctional upbringing to be far higher among alcoholics and drug abusers, than the prevalence of so called normal parents. Probably by a factor of 5.
TSA-esque security checks and bullet-proof glass at hospital reception desks will become the norm.
