I believe this is standard practice with socialized medicine (such as Obamacare). My friend's father was a native of Germany, and returned their after retirement. He claimed his social Security check would go farther in a country with "free health care", and other "benefits" of socialism.

He was visiting a friend IN A HOSPITAL when he suffered a heart attack. The aids found that he was "too old to treat", and he died there without medical attention. He was 74.

No, it is not. And I say that as a conservative Briton.

Whilst incidents like this happen, the vast majority of nurses and doctors and NHS staff are first rate, contrary to US horror stories. I know, I have been a patient, family member of patients, and a non-caring/medical NHS worker.

The NHS (and I can really only speak for it) has its problems, some major. But it is not in fact far from the third rate horror show that too many Americans believe it is.

What I suspect was nearer the truth was he was labelled as another drunk bought in to sleep it off. We are having so many of these incidents every night not just Friday/Saturday that policy is let them sleep off till morning and discharge them. Of course what failed here was that he was in a serious condition which was not diagnosed. But in defense of the nursing staff they are becoming fed up with drunks/druggies taking their time and beds up when they could be treating real patients. It is wrong on one level but on another understandable.
