Mitt Romney admits he’s a big fan of ‘Twilight’

Is Mitt Romney trying to woo the teenage girl vote ahead of next year's presidential election?

In a potentially campaign-changing development, the 2012 presidential hopeful admitted to NBC's Jamie Gangel that he happens to be a fan of the "Twilight" series. The revelation came up during a discussion of books the former Massachusetts governor has read, including George W. Bush's recent memoir. But that's not all, Romney added.

"I like silly stuff, too," Romney volunteered. "I like the 'Twilight' series. That was fun."

I thought that Twilight was a 1998 mystery, starring Paul Newman, Gene Hackman , Susan Sarandon, Reece Witherspoon, and other heavy hitters, which laid a financial egg.

That’s your OPINION! And you are welcome to stick with it. But you must understand, it’s just your opinion and the worthiness of it is in the eye of the beholder.

So; BOTH your and Mr Rogers 'opinions' are equally valid?

However, he did tell us that if we follow his Commandments plus we accept the offer of grace, thru Jesus Christ, we will triumph over human death and walk in partnership with Him through the universe for eternity.

You SURE you're a SB?

The day a presidential candidate thinks he can grab a large block of votes by ingratiating himself with fans of vampire love is the day we’re done as a nation.

agreed...and seeing the innner workings of the teenage female was interesting and scary at the same time...great books.

the movies suck, however, because Pattison just doesn't pull off Edward's character.

he plays the character as a whiny biatch instead of a principled, thoughtful person...plus I just don't think he's attractive.

All the more reason to discount your book/movie reviews.

And yours as well, based on this thread.

a principled, thoughtful person.

AH Edward is not a “person”

Hes the undead, a vampire

son of vampires

and whatevere he is he is not “thoughtful” nor “principled”

Vampires by their very fictionalized nature are not principled

They take life through the sucking of blood

Vampires represent destructive demonic forces

Meanwhile he is just a made up charactor out of a womans religiously distorted mind

hes not real

and the girl is a boring ijit

My job as a Christian parent is to guard the minds and hearts of my children. Just as I wouldn’t introduce my children to anti-American, anti-capitalist ideas, I won’t introduce them to anti-Christian ideas either. I work hard to teach them the truths of Scripture and to set them on a path of righteousness. Why, in the name of empty entertainment, would I ever intentionally expose them to the ideas of cultists? There is plenty of wholesome entertainment out there that does not involve twisting God’s word, vampires, and the occult.

If you tell them it's "cultist" and "anti-Christian" that's how they will evaluate the books. If you tell them it is science fiction/fantasy and not reality that's how they will evaluate the books.

It's quite simple.

You have to trust your prior guidance and their intellects to understand the difference.

I enjoyed the books, as they were entertaining, raised interesting/thought provoking issues and gave an insight into the mind of teenage girls. (never a more scary place to visit for a father)

I had no idea the author was mormon. Since I still think Mormons are morons, that Mitt is a POS and that Christ died for my sins I'd say either the author sucks as a brainwasher or that was not her intent.

Regards.

LMAO...have you read the book? Apparently not.

They take life through the sucking of blood
Vampires represent destructive demonic forces

Edward, and his "family" do not drink human blood, they drink animal blood and are persecuted by other vampires because the choose not to harm humans.

but you knew that, right?

and he argues incessantly with Bella because he believes that humans have a soul and vampires do not and he doesn't want her to lose her soul

but you knew all this because you read the books so you could speak with knowledge about how evil they are...

I've read the entire thread...Jesus, some of you people are as freaking superstitious as the Afghans - and you don't have the excuses of begin subject to 30 years of war, a cult religion and a 90% illiteracy rate.

and you are some judgmental SOB's too. you can spout 'discernment' all you want, but your 'discernment' is still your judgement, not Jesus' Word, and therefore can be flawed. yet none of you will admit that...especially the dude trying to tell the Southern Baptist the difference between the two but couldn't recognize his own rationalization/judgement.

Lighten up people.

We will only know the answer when He returns for us...until then there are bigger fish to fry than some idiot running for Pres and a morman author.

there are a whole bunch of religious zealots out there whose 'discernment' tells them that we infidels need to be elminated.

Regards.

Did you even read my post ???

I was speaking of fictionous vampires when I said

“They take life through the sucking of blood
Vampires represent destructive demonic forces”

But you knew that didnt you ???

Yes the vampires in the authors imagination are different than the normal nasty vampires..

Theys special...

But NICE vampires ???

That would be like saying Satan is nice

Vampires represent demons, evil

The author wanted to take something evil and make it appear sweetness and light

Though of course Satan does appear as an angell of light...

There is nothing redeeming about these books

Tennage firls lined up after the first movie and offered their throats asking the actor to bite them and suck their blood

hardly an innocent theme to be enxouraging young girls to read

But you knew that didnt you ???

and stupid Bella is not a typical teenage girl

Thank goodness most girls use their brains

and dont go gaga over beings who have sparkly, shiny, twinkley, pixie dust, fairy spinkled skin when they take off their shirts

Take off their shirts ???

Get naked ???

A Rambo wannabe ???

or a voyeur ???

How indecent...

and the continual empasis on thoughts of sex before marriage ???

Hardly nice reading for young girls...or boys...

can this author write about normal children ???

Is there a Flicker in her future ???

Or would that wholesome story be too tame ???

you start off by contradicting your first post in order to ignore my point - that Edward's character is a thoughtful person - concerned about Bella's soul.

but that's ok.

I'm betting you have not read the book, based on your comments.

I'm also of the opinion that this entire discussion is irrelevant.

I don't intend to debate you on this...your mind is as closed as mine.

See post #151.

Where in those dumb books did you read that ???

If the thoughtful demon was really concerned he would have left her alone

Bur NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

hes got to show his concern by want ing bite her neck and make her a vampire too

Even marry her to complete the deal and “seal” her as a vampire

Such concern such principle

you didn't read the book, did you?

Bella was able to convince Edward that even he believed that he had a soul.

again, it's a work of fiction that has not changed my mind about good and evil, nor has it changed my mind about how stupid mormanism is...

if you are so scared of a book you may want to pray about your own Faith and ask for more strength, because a book shouldn't scare you if you are secure in your salvation

but than that's just my 'discernment' (/sarcasm)

regards

Kid you can twist the theme of these books around till the cows come home but you will not make this drivel paletable to measure up with the words of the Christian Bible

These books are not to be read by those who confess to be followers of the LORD Jesus Christ

We are to be Bereans not Bellas

I've met people like you two before, both here in Afghanistan and in the States:

The night is black, without a moon.
The air is thick and still.
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torchlit hill.

Features distorted in the flickering light,
Faces are twisted and grotesque.
Silent and stern in the sweltering night,
The mob moves like demons possesed.
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right,
Confident their ways are best.

The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will.
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill.

They say there are strangers who threaten us,
Our immigrants and infidels.
They say there is strangeness too dangerous
In our theatres and bookstore shelves,
That those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.

Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand.

Regards...
