It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Putting on my asbestoses clothing ... dumb is as dumb does. As young, immature life forms, we all do dumb things, many survive, some don’t.

It doesn’t take much. I knew a kid that was sitting on the trunk of a car with a few others going 25 mph.

He got slung off in a turn and took the back of his head off on a gravel road.

Nostalgia can be a wonderful thing. Back in the day, there wasn’t anything known as metal detector anywhere (no need). Booze was the drug of choice. Guns were used for hunting, city folks didn’t own a gun, didn’t need one. Thrills were found riding the ferris wheel at the county fair.

I dont know about that.
We were pretty wild, but Good kids.
Stupid wild good kids.

We usually had the smarts to use empirical evidence in correcting our behavior.
But not always. I am sure nobody at this reported scene foresaw what was going to happen.

They know now, if they are smart.

The problem with nostalgia is that it tries to sweep problems that were reaching critical mass back under the rug. Pedophiles had free reign back then, and society foolishly assumed that most kids who dissapeared had chosen to run away especially in the case of boys.

The threat of the cold war was real, lets not forget that just because the European socialists and their Muslim compadres have now filled the batters box.

Cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and a host of other ailments no longer kill you in a matter of months. Often, they don’t even slow us down.

Our government has gone awry, but a lot of other things are better now.

Hey, I’d scream too with the car moving at 99 miles an hour, the driver taking pictures rather than holding the wheel, and the car heading directly into the highway automated sign. Even if I was inside the car.

I was worried for a moment that it was a friend's son. They had tried this about 2 years ago and ended up with a similar injury. I got worried they didn't learn their lesson the first time, now I'm just sad to see this resulted in a first and last lesson for some kid. Some young folks really believe their invulnerable to the point where something like this would be a "good idea".

Prayers for his soul and his family.
