Newt Stumbles Out of the Gate
Michelle Malkin ^ | 5/16/2011 | Doug Powers

Newt Gingrich was on Meet the Press this morning in his first Sunday show appearance since announcing his intention to… challenge President Obama for the Democrat nomination, apparently.

Andrew Stiles at NRO has the details:

Newt Gingrich’s appearance on “Meet the Press” today could leave some wondering which party’s nomination he is running for. The former speaker had some harsh words for Paul Ryan’s (and by extension, nearly every House Republican’s) plan to reform Medicare, calling it “radical.”

No, but he is running in the Republican primaries, in which I presume many Fox News watchers will be participating. He has to get past the primaries before he can even think about running as the Republican nominee.

Newt backed "something" in the 1990s and he also talked about "something" in the 1990s. Now, was it the violation of the 13th amendment, and the excessive fines clause?

He and other people mention all sorts of things long before they get fully talked out and the weak points found.

Newt talks first and debates later. At the moment what you are doing is proving that we don't want any candidates who fail to parse every word without reference to a Conservative poll.

Frankly, Newt is just too noisy for some of you.

Does he always agree with me? Hardly. But then again, none of the current crop of candidates are sufficiently Conservative for my taste, so from my point of view we are always talking about people who are, at most, Second-Rate.

Understand?

LOL.

I started out with three of them (Newt; 2012; and I forget the other) and didn't notice till you pointed it out.

He sure is liked by FR conservatives....

:-)

Newt, just sit down. We will call you when we need a bipartisan commission to review the treaty with Izbekistan. till then, you are taking up valuable time and bandwidth and reminding people what they hated about the 1994 version of a GOP controlled house.

What I understand is that you are squirming all around the carpet like a dog with an itchy back, and you have gone from Gregory Mind Control thesis to defend Newt, to a new tack: Newt talks before he thinks.

I also call Nonsense on your new thesis. Newt has been around a long time, and he knows what to expect from these shows. I take him at his word, that he backs an individual mandate now, and has from the 1990's.

I will not permit a pass for Newt on this one. Not on MY watch.

We are among friends here. They should be chastised brutally for carrying water for the liberals posing as Conservatives, like Newt Gingrich. Don’t you agree?

There is only one thing worse than the suffering the libtards to mislead the public and that is to deceive ourselves.

That is the ultimate folly.

“Newt is so done right now it’s amazing”

Newt never had my vote. He is sure Paul Ryan is the man to beat, he wants to push him aside early. Well, guess who will be pushed aside before he really gets in. Newt, you are done.

He has to get past the primaries before he can even think about running as the Republican nominee.

That how the game is played, but Newt is wrong on two levels.

First, he annihilated his chances of making it through the primary. If I wanted a single payer, I... wait, I already have one, in Barack Obama's plan. I don't want it run better, I want it eliminated.

Second, we can't win with a candidate that runs and hides behind Hannity's skirt every time his undisciplined mouth lands him in trouble. Newt's a big boy now. He wants to be President. He needs to be able to take care of himself when dealing with a less than adoring media, or he needs to drop out of the race.

you refuse to admit Gregory seized your mind and is now using it to beat up on Republicans. Bwahahahahahaha!

You may as well stop arguing now. The Farce is too strong in this one... /g

To do that in this case you have to carry David Gregory's jockstrap, not just his water.

Be careful what you ask for.

Stop and think for a moment ~ what if Newt no longer has the presence of mind to know what to expect from these shows, and without Hannity there he can't keep on track anymore.

Dig deeper into that ~ not what you think he said.

Use this moment to attack Gregory ~ Google picks up on that concept and puts your post ahead of all the others whenever his name is searched for.

Look for Pope Gregory you get Muawiyah!

Haven't you noticed this stuff happening?

Now's not the time for Newt ~ that's long gone. This is the age of BEATING DOWN THE LEFT, and never let an opportunity pass you by.
