Their Comeuppance?
Waterbury Republican-American ^ | May 13, 2011 | Editorial

The Web site Think Progress (Think Liberal) speculated Mother Nature unleashed tornadoes last month that killed at least 349 people in several Southern states in retribution for their congressional delegations' recent refusal to support a resolution supporting the global-warming dogma: They "overwhelmingly voted to reject the science that polluting the climate is dangerous.

They are deliberately ignoring the warnings from scientists." The pollution in question, of course, is carbon dioxide, which fuels earth's life cycle.

But the bigger hole in this theory is last month's twister outbreak was far from the deadliest on record. For example, tornadoes killed 454 Southerners over two days in April 1936, and 695 people in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana in March 1925, decades before scientists dreamed up their now-discredited global-warming hypothesis.

Our county, Eastern Kansas, is celebrating Earth Day with signs etc. I believe that this is an establishment of religion in violation of the 1st amendment. Any suggestions on who to call to file a complaint?

I'd think that you might do best with the County Attorney's office; it should be on this list.

Also, here is some reading material that you might look over before you call.

The biggest problem with the global warming = more tornadoes theory is that it ignores tornado dynamics. Unlike hurricanes which could get stronger (maybe also less numerous) with higher sea surface temperatures, tornadoes do not thrive on heat. The supercells may last longer and travel farther but that’s about it. Otherwise the 1974 outbreak was further north and earlier in the season. Our April outbreak was later in April, occurred further south, and was accompanied by abnormally cool and dry air to the north of it. The simple unbiased conclusion is that the tornado dynamics were caused by La Nina and abnormal cold and dry air further south.

CORRECTION:

They overwhelmingly voted to reject the PSUEDO ”science” that polluting the climate THE HOAX-BASED AGW is dangerous.

They are deliberately ignoring the warnings from LEECHS WHO SUCK FROM THE GOVERNMENT TEAT AND CALL THEMSELVES scientists IN ORDER TO RECEIVE MORE GRANT MONEY."

There. Fixed it.

“now-discredited global-warming hypothesis”

Ah, I love that phrase.
If I ever become Emperor all news agencies will be required to use it anytime they mention Global Warming/Climate Change/Disruptification/Sauerkraut Induced Temperature Fluctuation, or whatever they’re calling the scam this week.

We are experiencing either heat or cold, dryness or wetness,

The Liberals are ANGRY with us-the more money the get, the more likely we will be entirely free of weather!

Only through giving up your money and freedom can the government be appeased.

Line’em up! I'll vote ‘em into obscurity in 2012

You’ll note that nobody gets particularly excited about natural disasters where few or no people live. That is why the great New Madrid earthquakes of 1812 (four quakes, about 7.5 each), while they were enormous and devastating to the land, just disturbed a handful of settlers and Indians.

But if they happened today, much of the city of Memphis would be swallowed by ground liquification, most buildings in a 50,000 square mile area would have been knocked down, and most buildings in a 1m square mile area would have mild, moderate or severe damage. Many roads would be destroyed, dams and levees broken, large amounts of flooding from the Mississippi. And heaven only knows how many people would be killed. Likely in the tens or hundreds of thousands.

And none of it would have anything to do with MMGW, though it would be a disaster of unparalleled proportions.

Yeah, out here in KY, I’ve given thought to the New Madrid fault. There some dams that would wreck havoc if 1812 repeated itself. Land between the lakes, Lake Cumberland. Be like something out of an Irwin Allen movie.
