The only ‘bounce’ Obama deserves is to be bounced out of the WH.

I went to a concert by the Army band last night (excellent, by the way) and the Captain, director of the band, treated the bin Laden killing, exactly as I would have hoped. He said the world is a better place and in a cautionary tone, he reminded the audience that this was over ten years coming and was the work of the entire military, not one group of men or a single person.

I have to say that Army Field Band is really great. I didn’t know what to expect, fearing a whole evening of John Phillips Sousa, but that is not at all what I got. Those people are some of the best musicians in the country and almost all have masters degrees. The concert ranged from 40’s show tunes, to opera, folk music, classical and jazz. It was wonderful.

At the end of the day it’s all about the economy.

Why should he get any credit?
Zero just happened to be Pres__ent when the deed was done.

It was the culmination of years of dedicated effort by teams of other people.

I’d bet any amount of money that when in the US Senate, the bastard voted AGAINST all intelligence and military funding bills.

FUBO!!!

So far the Osama story has been successful in getting stories of Obama’s bogus birth certificate and the impending bankruptcy of the nation off the front pages of the few newspapers that had covered them.

First Obama killed our jobs, the American economy and the Constitution, then he gave permission to have Bin Laden killed.

All Obama did was give the 'go' signal, something any CO should have been given the ability to order. But no! Obama wanted the credit.

And what if Bin Laden had gotten away again because the SEALS had to sit around on their hands waiting for the word to come down from Obama himself so he could get his little PR photo op?

On the bright side, Obama's dangerous ROE's were loosened for the day and our troops were allowed to do their job.

Thank God this man is dead....I of course do question everything that looks slightly askew with this POSOTUS.
as we are currently shackled to the worst president in the history of the republic...any and all questioning of his deeds, words, reasons, legitimacy are necessary.

all he does should be suspect and torn apart by us, the opposition.

the fact that zer0 got his information from Bush administration ‘enhanced interrogation’ methods...invalidates, by zer0’s own philosophy, the raid

the fact that he knew of OBL location for 4 months and hemmed and hawed (they call it planning) waiting to act when the subject could have caught wise, and bugged out...once again puts the POSOTUS in the same class as Clinton who could have killed Bin Laden 5 or 6 times...

the only reason zer0 had bin laden killed was for political reasons... my bet is that he wished he could have waited till late in 2012 so as to get more of a political push in the elections..

[Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president’s performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.]

Looks like he gained about 5 pts. I expect him to gain about 5 more.

Obama’s patting himself on the back speech the other night was very off putting. As was his failure to give the Bush Administration any credit where credit is do. Surprisingly, the media is actually reporting that the intelligence that led to Osama’s death was obtained during the Bush Administration.

Obama will get a bounce, but it won’t last long. OBL’s death does not put gas in my tank, get me a job, put food on my table, or pay my mortgage.

Whoa!

I figured he’d get a bounce that faded because of the economy, but if he’s not getting any bounce at all from this, that means attitudes are hardening and the economy will have to come back huge for him to get better numbers.

A better indicator will be the polls that are taken after Osama prances around 9/11 ground zero in a few days.

I do not think most people appreciate a politician that pats themselves on the back when someone else did the work, especially when its the military.

To be fair...Obama had to break his campaign promise to keep the troops deployed. His base wanted them all to come home.

So he does deserve credit in that he could have screwed it up so that we never got him. And he didn’t include Pakistan in the planning so that took some guts on his part as it goes against his instinct.

What is it with the Sousa bashing? You can do a lot worse.

NPR started this as I recall.

"We will not waver, we will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail." - George W. Bush

There will be no bounce for Obama. Americans know at some level of consciousness, WHO got this job done, and will not give one who opposed the President at every turn, credit for the success of this 10 year mission.

Isn’t this based on a rolling three-day average, for which only one day so far would be post-reported kill? I think you’re pretty right about that 10-point somewhat approve bump, which will come from the squishy, poorly-informed middle. That’s probably also the 10% of the electorate that’s up for grabs in an election—and that usually doesn’t make up its mind until a couple of weeks before the election.
