Obama Facebook Event Goes 'Unavailable' After Conservatives Flood It With Repeal Obamacare Posts Thursday, April 21, 2011 By Fred Lucas
(CNSNews.com) On Wednesday, President Barack Obamas town hall meeting on Facebook was unavailable to viewers for 39 minutes after it was flooded with comments by a conservative groups online army demanding that the president repeal Obamacare, the administrations health care reform law enacted in March of last year.
For 39 minutes during the presidents Shared Responsibility and Shared Prosperity Facebook event, a screenshot displayed the message: Event Unavailable. Were sorry, this event isnt working right now. Please try again later.
A conservative group, ForAmerica, had urged its followers on Facebook to post the following comment as the president was holding his town hall meeting from Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, Calif.: Its not a tough choice, Mr. President. You have added $3.5 TRILLION to the debt already, the first thing we should do is repeal Obamacare!
We encouraged ForAmerica's nearly 1 million strong Facebook community to comment on President Obamas Facebook town hall page and call for the repeal of ObamaCare, ForAmerica Chairman Brent Bozell said.
Bozell is the president of the Media Research Center, the parent organization of CNSNews.com.
As the comments grew on the town hall page we marveled at the speed and volume of posts from ForAmerica supporters, said Bozell. Within a few minutes, the town hall page was taken down and labeled unavailable, and it was down for at least 39 minutes. When it was restored, no new comments were allowed for several more minutes. We are only beginning to see the untapped power of this growing, formidable online army.
In an e-mail message, CNSNews.com asked the Facebook press office: Why was the event not available for part of the town hall forum with the President? 1.) Were the posts prompted by the group ForAmerica.org a factor in closing down the town hall forum? 2.) If so, was this based on the volume of comments or the content of comments?
In response, Andrew Noyes, Facebook manager for public policy communications, said, Im unable to comment on why some people reported that the event was unavailable for a brief period of time. The page was and is operational.
They all got their stories aligned.
This is only the beginning. Any GOP Facebook operation will be vulnerable to similar “protests.”
So? Obama’s whole identity is unavailable.
Permanently.
These and similar capabilities will be made available exclusively to hussein & co.
“it will provide hussein & co an administrative screening capability whereby posts can be prescreened before going live.”
I believe the turds already pre-screen questions for king obuma, but they’ll never have the manpower to pre-screen all posts. Flood the propaganda event and shut it down.
I do need to learn how to send posts from other IP addresses. Do you have any ideas on that?
I’m disappointed that it wasn’t unavailable due to “Release the BC” posts.
I’ll only be happy when the Obama Admin goes down when he’s defeated for re-election or, even better, beaten by another dem in the primary.
“some people”
Smile of the.day.
Buy time from a botnet? heheh.
Seriously, it's just as cheap for them to push propaganda on the web as it is for you. But they have way more cash and can beat you at that game. Do yourself a favor and spend your time and energy on organizing and mobilizing - it's the grassroots groups and leaderless resistance that will have the most effective clout.
I have a paid proxy IP hider which is wicked. It’s either that or use something like anonymouse.org. but the drawback is that everytime you log on to your account or post, it will either drag it or kick you of the site bec. of the cookie issue.
