Sarah Brady claims Obama pushing ‘under the radar’ gun control
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 19 April, 2011 | David Codrea

Anti-gun activist Sarah Brady claims President Barack Obama is committed to stealth gun control according to a report in The Washington Post.

Recounting a March 30 meeting between Brady, her husband Jim and White House Press secretary Jay Carney, The Post reports:

During the meeting, President Obama dropped in and, according to Sarah Brady, brought up the issue of gun control, “to fill us in that it was very much on his agenda,” she said.

“I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

Among the measures discussed:

[H]ow records get into the system and what can be done about firearms retailers. Her husband specifically brought up the proposed ban on large magazine clips…

While Brady reports the president “just laughed” she also expressed “absolute confidence that the president was committed to regulation.”

That Obama is coyly discussing “processes…under the radar” directly contradicts a campaign pledge further documented via an official White House memorandum:

My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.

There is nothing transparent, open or participatory about maneuvers to exercise control over unalienable rights. The entire purpose of being “under the radar” is to escape detection.

Confirms what we always thought about Obama and his administration. I guess project gunwalker was supposed to be one of those "under the radar" type operations.

“We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

When a President says this about the 2nd A and plans to deceive the American people, what is it called?

We once complained about "no taxation without representation".
Now we have representatives who lie to us about what they are trying to do.

Government is the enemy. It always has been. This is why government should be small, weak, and starved for cash. Alas, we're doing it wrong in this country.

Gungrabbers - you can’t get everyone in the “first wave”,
and you will meet CONSIDERABLE resistance in the second.

Better draw straws to get assigned to the first wave instead of the second, because your survival odds are much better.

It's my take that Obama doesn't want gun control as much as he wants gun control on law-abiding citizens. He doesn't mind guns in the hands of criminals nearly as much. YOu can see that as Holder works to reduce penalties for criminal behavior "his people."

Criminal auxiliaries have long been a tool of totalitarian regimes. Examples include the Nazi auxiliaries under Ernst Rohm, the Chinese Red Guards, and Russian paramilitaries.

There have always been the 3% who will go all in for their country while the rest of the bubbas consume the Big 3 you mentioned.

Her husband specifically brought up the proposed ban on large magazine clips, and she noted that even former vice president Dick Cheney had suggested that some restrictions on the clips might make sense. “He just laughed,” Sarah Brady said approvingly of the president.

Because he is so ignorant on these matters he can't even fake it, and dares not employ words. A laugh leaves you thinking he's so wise, he is deriving exquisite amusement from some abstruse philosophical scintilla beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.

...proposed ban on large magazine clips…

What the heck are "magazine clips" and how large do they get?

How 'bout someone propose a ban on uttering more than 10 words a day in public?

That should bring the First Ammencment to the fore as sacred and can't be legislated away. Then say Second Ammendment.

It would. Modern civilization is much more precarious and easily disrupted than the generally self sufficient and decentralized populations of the past. There would also be a much larger proportion of the population that would assist through civil disobedience or simple inaction.

If the Kremlin could fall, Versailles on the Potomac can fall. The level of disaffection is not quite there, but you can see it from here.
