Par for the course for TV journalism. I know 8 year olds that can write a better article.

But newschannel10 doesn’t think it’s necessary that we know which Texas lawmaker is for this crap?

No. If they named named it might mean you'd call the lawmaker's office. It's what passes for journalism now.

The press will often waste 500-1000 words telling you a bill has been introduced but not provide the bill number. I found this frequently the case when looking for eligibility bills. It was noticing this pattern of non-information which spurred me to find the bills.

No information at all about who proposed it, the status of the proposed bill, or anything. Yes, it is one of the most poorly written stories I’ve seen all year. If this were submitted for a high school newspaper as part of a journalism class, I would probably give it a grade of D if I were feeling generous.
