(CNN) -- Five troops killed in a suicide bombing this weekend at a military base in eastern Afghanistan were members of the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division, a senior U.S. military official said Sunday.
Earlier, authorities had said only that five members of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, which includes troops from the United States and other nations, were killed in the Saturday incident.
The families of all five have been notified of the deaths, and a formal announcement from the Army is forthcoming, said the official, who declined to be identified pending the announcement.
On March 29, the same Army division lost six troops in a series of firefights in eastern Afghanistan.

I’m sick to death of losing brave patriots. Would much prefer to replace them in Afghanistan with unAmerican union thugs.

My GF and I are re-watching Band of Brothers this weekend. From Bastogne, to Hamburger Hill in Viet Nam, to Afghanistan, the 101st has always been in the thick of it, but their legendary status has come at the cost of exceptional sacrifice and service.

What the hell are we doing in Afghanistan? Really, we are dealing with a culture that hasn’t changed for centuries. I am sick of seeing young American soldiers killed in this country.

There are a number of 101st Airborne Division vets who are Freepers and it hurts us very much. God bless all of our magnificent military.
And get the Hell out of Afghanistan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1130 fallen warriors since Obama became president. The total does not include the recent 5 Airborne since there has been no official DoD Release. Pray for the families of these warriors, they were just notified of the loss of their loved one.

What the hell are we doing in Afghanistan? We value life. We can't defeat an enemy who values death more than life. Bring home our troops.

Shitcanistan is a lost cause thanks to the Court Jester in Chief and his utterly failed policies and strategies. He has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory over there. To a great extent we had the Taliban on the run when he took over.
At this point we should probably just pack up our stuff and go home. If we're not going to fight a war like we want to win it, because we have a spineless and muslim loving CinC who does NOT want to win it, all that happens is we just keep pouring more meat into the meat grinder. We never learned a thing from Vietnam.

http://cnsnews.cloud.clearpathhosting.com/news/article/60-us-military-deaths-afghanistan-have-o 60% of our troops killed in the 10 years of Afghanistan - have been under obamas new ROE - in 2 years. He has blood on his his hands.
No more reports on KIAs from the main Slime Media.
Our guys are not allowed to shoot until first shot AT...and a gun is seen. Suicide bombers don't carry guns.
and there might have been a civilian nearby - in which case, they can't shoot.
Even when pinned down under fire and getting shot and killed - they are refused air cover unless they can prove there are no civilians in the area.
Blood drips from the hand of the Taliban's friend in the WH.
AND he has gotten away with gifting the Taliban whole valleys in the most strategic area to the Taliban - just pulling our troops out, with out a fight, and LEAVING caches of ammo, rockets, missiles - etc. for the Taliban - who bragged they'd use it on our troops.
BTW, these valleys were where OBL trained the 9-11 bombers - these valleys are where the mountain passes are that are used by them to run back and forth from Pakistan - with troops/ammo and attacks.
Who do our troops have on OUR side?

Of course, you all remember reading this in the MSM - oh, no, right, they didn't bother to mention it.
Can we really survive another year and a half the traitor in the WH?

During WWII, in Europe at least, we fought an enemy who actually HAD a fear of death. Not so much with the Japanese, which left us no choice but to kill them down to the last man. I had uncles and second cousins who fought both in the ETO and Pacific and their stories were completely different. I would have takem Europe any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
With these sub-human carpet kissing savages, you cannot threaten someone with death who WELCOMES it through some utterly misguided fairy tale that they will be martyred and receive 72 virgins (who probably look like Rosie O'Donuts) fighting for that fake god Allah and false prophet Mo the Molester. You cannot win with a culture like that. Shitcanistan is a country of totally decentralized tribes filled with utterly uneducated and ignorant people who cannot even comprehend democracy or anything that is not completely dominated by, for all practical purposes, an islamic autocracy.

Wrong, we never had victory over there, O’s policies and strategies are not that different than Bush’s. It was idiocy to think that we could do more than a smash and grab of Osama which is what we went in there for in the first place. After Bush mucked that up he came up with the great idea of “nation building” and doomed the US to repeat the failures of the British and Russians.

I just returned from Afghanistan - FOB Sharana where I had the privilege of working on projects with the 506th of the 101st Airborne Div. (yes - the one and the same.....)
These guys are a class act all the way.
