Sounding increasingly like a candidate, Donald Trump repeatedly told a raucous tea party crowd today he has the qualities needed in the White House and the conservative ideals necessary to seal the Republican nomination should he decide to run.
Trump struck familiar themes and talked about his own business acumen in his speech to hundreds gathered at a park here, where his name festooned signs, buttons and T-shirts of supporters. The real estate mogul even talked about the type of people he'd have serve as diplomats and said he was looking forward to releasing his financial disclosures.
"Most very successful people, the kind of people that we need running our country, don't want to be scrutinized and abused," he said. "This is the kind of person that this country must have right now."
He derided President Barack Obama, calling him the worst to occupy the White House in history. He again questioned whether the president was born in the U.S., even though the fact has been affirmed by officials in Hawaii, where Obama was born. And he maligned China, saying the U.S. should take control of Iraqi oil and described American infrastructure as third world.
Trump ticked through a number of issues seen as bedrocks for conservative candidates, saying he is anti-abortion, against gun control and wants to repeal Obama's health care law. Throughout the speech, he portrayed the U.S. as a nation in decline and himself as its potential savior.

I’m acquainted with Queens Village, near Jamaica - was married there.
All these towns or villages being mentioned, are on/in Long Island, New York.
Was raised in a number of L.I. towns.
The Jamaica demographics were changing back in the 1950’s.
Someone here may say even earlier.

Sarah Palin is OK but has been rendered inoperable by the slime ball media. They succeeded in ruining her image. She should invest the 10 million she has made and not fritter it away on politics
I agree, But I would like to see her run the RNC and get inside and rebuild it.
If Palin/Trump run with the rest, there is only one amongst them all who is running that may not be forced into line by the establishment...only one.
All the rest will be forced into line by the insiders in DC after elected.

Freepers are freaked out about Trump doing an Arnold Schwarzenegger on us. This fear is legitimate. Anytime you support and vote for a candidate its a gamble. But if you want to get Obama out then Trump looks like a better gamble than the others. Pawlenty is who Obama would love to run against

Trump—— Tough old businessman who knows how to get things built and make billions. His toughness will easily transfer over to a Trump presidency

I would only add that people in Jamaica Estates consider Jamaica Estates to be a separate neighborhood from rundown Jamaica. Geographically Jamaica Estates is located on the "good" (North) side of the tracks while Jamaica is located on the not-so-good South side of the tracks

starting to wonder if trump is the “Dem’s Manchurian Candidate” to run on the Republican ticket.
I’m certain that our next POTUS will come from the Repub ticket (notice I did not say he or she would BE a Republican), so I now wonder if the dems are trying to ensure that one of their own be the POTUS if their boy obama loses.

BTW. Friends were over and I showed them your snooty little posts. They are not going to have anything to do with her either after seeing that. So thats five in little less than 12 hours. I was on the bubble and still thinking. But now I wouldnt vote for her no matter, and if she runs and wins the nomination..I simply will sit it out.

That is an adhominem attack. Let me guess what causes you to make the slur. You reject his call to end the U.S. empire by bringing home the troops from 130 countries and 750 military installations around the world at the cost to defense contractors of one trillion dollars a year of your money. How is the investment going?
There may be a need for U.S. troops somewhere but the wars we are fighting without purpose or end are bankrupting us. Time to say enough is enough. Wouldn’t you think?

I don’t remember Jamaica being ‘slummy’ during the years The Donald would have been growing up there. Don’t think of Jamaica Estates as particularly wealthy vs. say, Lake Success.
One girl in my dorm had a ‘code’ when she wanted her mother to pick her up when she was going home for the weekend. She’d make a collect call (remember those?) for “May Jamaica” which meant her mom was to pick her up at May’s in Jamaica.
