Trump addresses tea party crowd in Boca Raton (hundreds gathered)

Sounding increasingly like a candidate, Donald Trump repeatedly told a raucous tea party crowd today he has the qualities needed in the White House and the conservative ideals necessary to seal the Republican nomination should he decide to run.

Trump struck familiar themes and talked about his own business acumen in his speech to hundreds gathered at a park here, where his name festooned signs, buttons and T-shirts of supporters. The real estate mogul even talked about the type of people he'd have serve as diplomats and said he was looking forward to releasing his financial disclosures.

"Most very successful people, the kind of people that we need running our country, don't want to be scrutinized and abused," he said. "This is the kind of person that this country must have right now."

He derided President Barack Obama, calling him the worst to occupy the White House in history. He again questioned whether the president was born in the U.S., even though the fact has been affirmed by officials in Hawaii, where Obama was born. And he maligned China, saying the U.S. should take control of Iraqi oil and described American infrastructure as third world.

Trump ticked through a number of issues seen as bedrocks for conservative candidates, saying he is anti-abortion, against gun control and wants to repeal Obama's health care law. Throughout the speech, he portrayed the U.S. as a nation in decline and himself as its potential savior.

Nothing he’s ever said or done matters now. We’ve got a full-on cult of personality thing going here.

Exactly. Let's ride him like a surfboard on a wave -- before it fades. If he can take out Obama, all the more power to him. I just don't want him to be our nominee.

"We’ve got a full-on cult of personality thing going here"

I doubt that.

For the most part folks are glad to see SOMEBODY standing up to the commie interloper in the White House on his greatest vulnerability: He is NOT one of us.

He is foreign born and raised...first in a foreign religion...then steeped in radical communism.

This image of Obama as one who does not have an "America First" philosophy will sink him. It's nearly certain.

The only reason it didn't work in 2008 is because it was not tried. McCain and the GOP Establishment nixed the approach.

And, it's the MOST IMPORTANT element of who this POTUS is.

If Trump sticks with this...and is continually augmented by Palin attacking every Obama policy as un-American...Obama will be destroyed.

How about this-—
Who has dome more to hide, obscure, keep under seal and fabricate his past than Obama? And this very same person has specialized in getting election opponents divorce records unsealed. Funny how that works. Karma is about to boomerang on him, courtesy of a pit bull (with financial resources to investigate)named Donald Trump.

Thanks, Red Steel.

You know my mind sometimes doesn’t get simple things that may be obvious.

I thought he was saying that people in gov should not be scrutinized and that didn’t seem to - make sense, since he wants 0bastard scrutinized. As well he should have been, better late than never, etc.

You know, it is true; Americans are stupid and that includes some so called conservatives. It’s a bit appalling to see people ready to put anyone in the WH after that person has ‘said’ a few things that “sound good”.

Seems to me that’s exactly how the marxist was elected. In spite of the evidence, the rock solid facts in his background, people ignored all of that and instead, fell for his empty words of ‘hope & change’ bullshit. The evidence was there of what the madman intended to do if elected but no, the electorate reasoned that ‘he didn’t mean’ that or that he meant something else...refusing to believe all evidence and foolishly casting their vote for him.

Now we have Trump. The evidence is out there for all to see. He has supported the ENEMIES of this country and it wasn’t in the distant past that he did so. These are the very people and the type of people THAT ARE DESTROYING THIS NATION and Trump lavished huge contributions on them. And everyone is willing to overlook that because Trump is harping on the BC issue? Well not me. I don’t give a damn what he says, his ACTIONS state something else.

You're the epitome of lemming stupidity and a slap in the face of the great conservatives on the site.

Wow, I was thinking along the same lines about you when I read your comments. Who made you Lord God Almighty?

If we win with a candidate what insists on universal Canadian-style healthcare, that would be a victory to you? That IS SOCIALISM!!!

That’s what Trump insists we have, in his own words. Listen for yourself.

Wake the hell up!

Don’t be in denial. This is our country at stake. We cant act like mindless, cultish idiots,

Sickening what we call “victory” these days. Don’t be suckered.

http://legalinsurrection.blogspot.com/2011/04/sound-trumpet.html

Highlights:

He says he is “liberal” on healthcare, and that we must have universal Canadian-style healthcare

He says he can’t understand why Nancy Pelosi didn’t do more to impeach the “evil” (his word) George Bush for “lying” to get us into Iraq.

He says he doesn’t understand why John Kerry didn’t win in 2004.

Said that George Bush was the worst president ever, although now he has changed his story to say Obama and Carter were the worst.

Don’t be fooled by this guy.

.

“I see Allen West going places in the near term.”

Oh man, I see him going places, but unfortunately I don’t think it will be in the near term. As much as I wish otherwise.
I think his big move this cycle will be to run for and win the Senate seat opening in FL. I apologize up front for not knowing enough about the FL election time frames ,but maybe he tries for the Fl governorship when available, and positions himself to open an old fashion can of whoop a$$ on what ever Dem dares to run for the WH in ‘20.

And how about McCain calling down the elderly woman who said she was afraid of Obama?
McCain replied, ‘Obama is a decent family man not to be feared’. That threw the election right there.

You have expressed what I have been thinking. I wouldn’t vote for him, but he is boldly going after BO in matters the press wouldn’t and will not. I appreciate that.

Mariner, you hit the nail on the head. Instead of people worrying about throwing their final support behind Donald Trump, they need to understand that he is taking the fight to our opponents on horseback and is taking out their leader. We should be jumping with excitement instead of whining that he just may get the credit for his efforts in the end.
